I’ve been a regular customer at this restaurant for quite some time, and usually, I’ve had a decent experience. However, today’s incident was extremely disappointing and insulting.
I ordered some food and paid a bill of ₹435. Initially, I tried to pay via POS machine, but the staff take QR code. I had no issue with that, so I completed the payment using the QR code.
That’s when the real problem started.
The cashier stopped me and said they hadn’t received any SMS confirmation from their bank, and they do not even have the bank’s app to check if the payment went through. In this digital age, running a restaurant and not having a way to verify UPI transactions other than SMS is highly unprofessional. Everyone knows SMS can be delayed due to network issues.
Despite being a regular customer, I was asked for my name, phone number, and a payment screenshot. This was unnecessarily invasive and humiliating, especially for someone who visits often and has always paid without issues. If the restaurant isn’t prepared to handle QR payments properly, why offer them at all?
On top of this, the food was slightly salty today (though I didn’t complain as it had never happened before), but the treatment I received overshadowed everything.
I will not be returning again and do not recommend this place to others. If you must visit, avoid QR payments—stick to card or cash to save yourself the hassle and potential...
Read moreI have never visited the place so is unsure about the hygiene or ambience of the place, but I mostly order through food delivery apps and mostly get what I pay for (great deals are always on your platter!). One more thing I want to add is they should work on making their biriyani bettter, both in terms of taste (rice and small and not fragrant enough and meat is not well cooked) and packaging. Sending biriyani in a paper packet that reaches the customer anywhere between 30-45 minutes is a horrible mess (Wrose during winter) and not every indian household is fortunate enough to have a microwave oven to reheat that. An aluminium foil packing or a food container would be a great idea. If the restaurant owners are reading this, please...
