Newly opened family restaurant in gora bazar area at Neem tala more. The restaurant has two floors the ground floor serves as the take away counter and as a small cafe. On the first floor we get a restaurant and banquet room and private dining section. The restaurant and the banquet room is very well decorated and specially a banquet room looks very up scale with his ivory white decoration and the lamp shades. Sitting capacity is approximately of 50 people at a time.
Ample space and the decor at the most stunning eye catching feature at first.
About the food : we tried Kashmiri pulao, Biryani , mutton seekh kabab, chicken malai kabab, chicken hariyali kabab, keema nan, masala kulcha, chicken bharta ,chicken Butter masala and chicken tikka masala.
Among those the best were masala kulcha and chicken bharta.( You should try these)
The starters are good and well cooked, but in comparison we found that those are very highly priced! Eg- chicken malai kabab comes at 320 rupees per plate, chicken hariyali kebab also take ₹ 280 plate , both of them are available at almost at 45% less price at a competitor restaurant, Which is incompression to the locality on higher price range.
Nan kulcha and bharta are priced at per with the competitor restaurants.
Taste was good, this will be one of the few restaurants which offer non-sweetened mughlai dishes, which is a big headache in Berhampore.
There is a lot of hope and expectation from the very friendly and enthusiastic owner. Looking forward to future visits and expecting them to expand their menu with much more diversification.
Update- the attitude and the food in the ground floor section is horrible Horrendous experience for only a...
Read moreToday visiting Berhampore after an interval of 2 months. After landing here it came to my mind that despite several visits I never tried Biriyani there. At that moment I made up my mind to try that one this time. After reaching there I told about my wish to uncle (the owner). He suggested me to try the Chicken Biriyani and also promised something exceptional in chicken. When the neat and clean hygienic aromatic dish got ready to satisfy my taste buds, I started to explore it. To describe the rice, it is well engineered one with perfect combination of authentic spices having no extra greasiness. But that's not all. The magic I felt when made a bite into the chicken. It's perfectly marinated tender and juicy one but with some fried twist. The quantity is enough for 1 to 2 (for light eater). I am saying honestly that my favorite Biriyani is from the Shiraz Golden Restaurant at Mallik bazar, Kolkata. But undoubtedly it comes after that and also the best biriyani I ever tried at Berhampore. And the last but not the least, it costs less than half of that one I mentioned as my most favorite. It's value+ for money. So, one should visit to...
Read moreI recently dined at The Culinary Haven, and it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with tasteful decor that exudes a sense of sophistication and comfort.
The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, each thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented. I opted for the seared scallops as a starter, and they were perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful. For the main course, I had the braised short ribs, which were incredibly tender and rich, served with a delightful parsnip puree that complemented the dish perfectly.
The service was impeccable. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. The timing of each course was spot on, allowing us to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace.
The Culinary Haven also boasts an impressive wine list, and our waiter helped us select a superb bottle that paired wonderfully with our meal.
Overall, The Culinary Haven exceeded my expectations in every way. It's the perfect spot for a special occasion or a delightful evening out. I can't wait to return and explore more of their...
