A Decent Spot for a Quick Bite Mr. & Mrs. Idly serves up a decent plate of idlis though it's not quite the culinary experience was hoping for. The idlis themselves were soft and fluffy, but they lacked that distinct, slightly tangy flavor that sets great idlis apart.
FOOD: (IDLY) Disappointing Idli and Sambar I was really hoping for a good South Indian breakfast at Mr & Mrs Idly, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The idlis were dense and somewhat dry, lacking the soft, fluffy texture I expect. They tasted a bit bland, and not in a good way. The sambar was the biggest letdown. It was watery and lacked the rich, complex flavors that a good sambar should have. It tasted mostly of tomatoes and was missing the distinct tang and aroma of lentils and spices. The combination of sumbar idlis and weak sambar made for a very disappointing meal. Idli was very much like steamed pita. Idli dosa batter was not prepared by hand; they used a ready-made idli dosa mix. I did not say so much about the idli batter because I read the lines on their website, and I was forced to write so much. We own the original batter, the real taste of idli & dosa, with different flavors of chutney presented in different ways.

SERVICE: "I was blown away by the exceptional service I received! From the moment I reached out, the team was incredibly responsive, friendly, and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure all my needs were met, and their attention to detail was truly impressive. I can't recommend this service enough!" ATMOSPHERE: This restaurant has a really lovely ambiance. The decor creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed meal. I especially appreciated the soft lighting, comfortable seating, and tasteful artwork. While I wouldn't quite call it perfect, it's definitely a great setting for an enjoyable dining experience. A minor suggestion would be that the seating space could be improved, perhaps with a little softer background music. Overall, a very...
Read moreI recently visited this South Indian vegetarian restaurant and overall had a pleasant experience. The dosa and idly were good, and the sambar was flavorful. The coconut chutney could use some improvement, but the pizza dosa was a delightful surprise and turned out to be the highlight of the meal.
The food here is light, not overly spicy or oily, which makes it enjoyable for all ages. My family really loved the dishes, though I have to admit I’ve had better dosa and idly elsewhere. The pricing is midrange, making it a fair option for regular dining.

Read moreA good restaurant for South Indian food in Balurghat. However, I have eaten in other places, where the dosa is very thin and crispy. However, the dosa here was not that good. And the spices in the masala dhas were not good here. The food seemed very normal. The atmosphere inside. I hope you will prepare the food a little more carefully. Overall,...
