In a quest for authentic South Indian flavors, I embarked to a renowned pushpa hotel, eager to indulge in the traditional delights of Dosa, Poori, and Idli. However, what awaited me was a disheartening experience that left my taste buds yearning for satisfaction. Poori** :Moving on to the Poori, a staple in South Indian cuisine, anticipation filled the air. Yet, what arrived at my table was a plate of mediocrity. The Poori lacked the characteristic lightness and crispiness, appearing rather limp and greasy. Its flavor failed to captivate, leaving me longing for the authentic taste that I had hoped to savor. IDLI* Despite its promising appearance, with a fluffy texture and steaming hot presentation, the taste was utterly underwhelming. The Idli lacked the subtle tanginess and softness that make it a beloved dish, instead resembling a tasteless sponge devoid of any character. Pongal:** Next on the gastronomic voyage was the comforting embrace of Pongal, a dish steeped in tradition and nostalgia. Presented before me was a bowl of creamy goodness, exuding warmth and comfort with every spoonful. Read morerecently visited Hotel Pushpa, a vegetarian restaurant with plenty of parking space outside. The seating arrangement is divided between non-AC on the ground floor and AC on the first floor. We tried their mushroom noodles, mushroom 65 and chilli parotta. While the mushroom 65 was a highlight and exceeded our expectations, the chilli parotta was overly spicy and not up to the mark. The mushroom noodles were just okay. The service was top-notch, though. One notable feature is their takeaway option for gravies like sambhar for ₹50, kurma for ₹75 and chenna for ₹80. However, the hotel's interior is a bit outdated and lacks a modern setup. Overall, it's an old-school hotel that serves decent food, but there's room for improvement in terms of taste...
