Umino - Candlelight Restaurant — Restaurant in Zone 15 Sholinganallur

I booked this place based on reviews. The atmosphere and location was perfect and great. We enjoyed the place and they captured us with a lot of photos and videos. And they started the dinner with a great note. But once the food is served, we are disappointed. Starters are very less in quantity, normal taste and not a great one. The mocktail was excellent. But everything was overshadowed by the location and the sea breeze. When the main course was served, we spotted a dragon fly in our chicken gravy. My wife is allergic to this and the surprise party suddenly became spoiled. They should take extra care of these small things. Whenever we spend this much for a special evening we expect high standards also. A big disappointment as my wife is not happy. Definitely they need to improve on taste also especially on the main course. Also the menu states brownies with ice cream and kajar halwa in desserts but we got served only with ice cream and very hard brownie piece.

The menu is limited. U will get very limited starters and good quantity of main course but taste wise it is not good and not bad type.

Apart from food, a great place for romantic dinner.

6000 Rs for candle light dinner...

I wanted to surprise my boyfriend by celebrating our love anniversary with a candle light dinner and stay thereafter. After looking at reviews, I contacted Mr Arun, the manager of Umino resorts. He planned the surprise and the stay just the way I expected it to be. They made sure my boyfriend doesn’t know anything about the whole surprise plan while we were there. It was a pleasure to stay here. Excellent service from arrival to departure. Staffs are very professional, friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean with modern furniture and with all amenities you may need. Free WiFi worked perfectly. Also, the hotel restaurant had a great choice of food options for the candle light dinner and they also confirmed the menu with me beforehand. The swimming pool facility was amazing (which was also included in the room price). Overall, the ambiance was so good and since this resort is located on the shore of the beach it added more beauty to our stay. 1. No variety of food, 2) Very bad quality of food. Meat seems to be very old and preserved improperly, 3) Charging 2000 rupees per member but it's worth for 300 per member or 400 may be. Real advice to people like me - Please dont go here and dont waste your money To management - please keep good quality of food and keep variety too as per the amount you collect from people (ofcourse your profit is also to be taken care but not only that) Good point - Mr. Arun (Manager) - His welcoming and customer service is good. So from your reply, what I understood is, out of 4000 rupees what we paid - you spent major amount for decoration All decorative items were falling down before we vocate from there.
