If you're anywhere near Chennai Beach Station or JC House Prayer Tower, there’s one place you simply must stop at: Nataraj Hotel.
It’s not a fancy 5-star restaurant. There are no neon lights or high-end décor. But what you’ll find inside is authentic South Indian taste, served hot, fresh, and full of flavour.
🥥 What We Ordered:
Masala Dosa – The dosa was perfectly crisp, not too oily, and packed with that spicy, golden potato filling inside.
Paneer Dosa – This one was a surprise! A fusion-style dosa with soft paneer cubes, masala, and melted cheese-like flavour. It had a North Indian twist, but still held that South Indian charm. Tea- Awesome Taste
Both dosas came with coconut chutney, tomato chutney, and hot sambar. The chutneys were fresh, and the sambar was flavorful — not too spicy, not too bland. Simple. Soulful. Satisfying. 😌
👨🍳 The Ambience:
Nataraj Hotel is small, clean, and busy — just how a great local joint should be. The staff is quick, humble, and they serve with a smile. There’s nothing over-the-top — but the service is fast, the food is hot, and the vibe is honest.
You’ll find people from all walks of life eating here — travelers, office goers, families, even some who stop by after praying at JC House.
💸 Pricing:
Very pocket-friendly! The full meal didn’t burn a hole in the wallet. It’s the kind of place where you get great quality without breaking the bank.
✍️ Final Thoughts:
Nataraj Hotel is a hidden gem near Chennai Beach. If you're craving authentic South Indian food — or just want a crispy, satisfying dosa that touches both your tongue and heart — don’t miss this spot.

Read moreI have been visiting Natarajah Hotel in Parrys Corner since my childhood, and it remains one of my favorite vegetarian eateries in Chennai. Over the decades, the hotel has upheld its reputation for consistently delivering high-quality food that never fails to satisfy.
One of the standout features of this hotel is its unwavering commitment to taste and authenticity. Every dish on the menu is a testament to traditional South Indian vegetarian cuisine, crafted with the same care and precision as it was years ago. From their fluffy idlis and crispy dosas to their rich filter coffee, the flavors are timeless.
While the food quality has remained impeccable, the service experience can vary depending on the staff on duty. Some employees go out of their way to provide excellent hospitality, while others might not match the same standard. However, this minor inconsistency is easily overshadowed by the food.
The rates are slightly higher compared to similar vegetarian restaurants, but when you consider the unmatched taste and quality, it feels justified. For anyone seeking a nostalgic dining experience with authentic South Indian flavors, Natarajah Hotel is a must-visit. It’s not just a restaurant but a part of my cherished memories, and I’m confident it will continue to delight...
Read moreAppalling Service: Asked to Vacate Table AFTER Food Arrived! I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Natarajah today (March 27th). I was seated, placed my order, and my food had just started arriving at the table when a group of four entered. A staff member immediately asked me to move to a different table to accommodate them. I pointed out that I was already seated and being served, adhering to the first-come, first-served principle. Instead of apologizing or acknowledging the inconvenience, the staff simply insisted I move. This was highly embarrassing and showed a complete lack of respect for a seated customer. Feeling disrespected and uncomfortable, I chose to leave the restaurant without eating the meal I had waited for. This is unacceptable customer service. Management needs to train staff on basic etiquette – you do not displace a customer who is already being served. I will not be returning and cannot...
