I do not understand the positive reviews.

Horrible experience. Really horrible food. Tasteless and unseasoned. The “buffalo chicken sandwich” is misleading, as there is nothing Buffalo about it. A completely unseasoned grilled chicken breast with a terrible “blue cheese” sauce. Perhaps it would help for the chef/owner to google what a buffalo chicken sandwich is.

When I asked for salt and pepper to somehow salvage the meal, the waiter seemed annoyed and had a bad attitude. I asked for buffalo sauce and he brought me blue cheese, and then ran away. I had to walk up and try to understand what was happening with this supposed “buffalo” sandwich. I was informed that there is no buffalo sauce………… interesting.

The pizza was also tasteless.

I read thru the reviews and see people have had similar complaints and yet it seems nothing has been done to rectify the issues, especially with the rude staff member. And therefore I would never return, nor would I encourage anyone else to go.

If that is the case then you need to change the name of your sandwich. Because ordering a buffalo chicken sandwich implies your customer will be getting a buffalo chicken sandwich, which it is not. And furthermore if you were serious about the quality of your food and quality of your service, you would have addressed these issues long ago when other customers mentioned...

Casan Balian Cafe is a true hidden gem nestled at the heart of the village. The warm and friendly locals add an extra layer of charm to the experience. The food they serve is nothing short of amazing, and the freshness of their juices is truly remarkable. Their coffee is a delight in itself, and the fruit bowl they offer couldn't have been more fresh and inviting. The level of accommodation they provide is truly noteworthy.

Our visit happened towards the end of their morning service, yet they went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. As we approached the end of our breakfast, they extended the kindness of allowing us to stay even during their closure between midday and 4pm. For fellow coffee lovers: the cappuccinos here are truly the best I’ve had in Balian—smooth, rich, and lovingly made. The food was always fresh, beautifully presented, and generous in portion size.

While gluten-free options were limited, the staff were so kind and accommodating. They happily grilled fresh fish for me most days, and it was absolutely delicious—light, flavourful, and consistently well-prepared.

But what made the experience truly special was the team. Every day, we were greeted with grace, warmth, and genuine smiles. It wasn’t just good food—it was soul food, served with love.
