You have to go. To be clear it is a road side sushi shack but they have tables and you can sit at the bar and watch the sushi master if you wish. The people are very friendly and it is delicious. There is not much info on this place so I'm going to give an extend review.
We came for the evening and had five dishes. It was all incredibly delicious. They have all kinds of rolls and nigrini, soft shell crab, tempura etc. There is a steady stream of locals getting take away. Our whole meal came to 165k or around £8 which is rediculous value!
We really liked the atmosphere, it is outside a sort of gym and hair Salon and indomart so lots of coming and going and general people watching. If you want beer you need to go up to circle K about 5 mins walk and bring it back to your table or there is a juice stall next door. The stall behind sells deep fried banana with chocolate and cheese also delicious if a little calorific.
To find it. It is next door to sizzle wraps which is easier to spot from the road (and incidentally does excellent...
Read moreAmazing food, reasonable prices and incredibly kind owners. Why the 3-star review? Because it took 1.5 hours to receive our first two rolls and then another 2 hours to receive our second set of rolls.
That is 3.5+ hours at a small restaurant to receive a total of four (4) hand tolls.
I believe the the cause of the long time lags stems from a recent expansion the restaurant underwent. Formerly an outdoor sushi cart the restaurant now features an interior dining room with 4-5 table and an outdoor seating area. The owner is the sole person performing sushi rolls which creates incredibly long time lags.
I truly believe the owner should invest in a larger sushi-rolling station and train 1-2 additional personnel in the art of sushi-making. Otherwise they will not be able to withstand the crowds and will continue to have egregious waiting times.
I wish the owners the best of luck as their food and prices are great - but they must work on the time component of...
Read moreI have no word for this place! Yes it's not luxury and for some people might look a bit dodgy...BUT! The team and the Chef are the nicest people who care about their customers and their food. Always freshly sourced local ingredients for the most creative and tasty sushi around Bali! We visit this place at least once a week and it's our favourite. Few things to consider, some rolls come with delicious sauces on top and do not require any extra soya sauce (try your sushi firs instead of drowning them straight away), the flavours used are already strong and flavourful! We used to order take away, but due to a lot of plastic used for packaging decided that eating in is better. (Hope they will start using cardboard boxes or other more sustainable packages). Over all I definetely reccomend this place. With Sushi being very affordable...
