The view is the only nice thing about this place — everything else was a disaster. We ordered the chicken Caesar salad (which came with a hair in the chicken), spaghetti bolognese (served stone cold — we had to send it back), and chicken steak (also cold and had to be reheated).
If that wasn’t bad enough, as we were eating, we found a live worm crawling in the lettuce of the Caesar salad. Absolutely disgusting and horrifying. We notified the staff, and the waiter offered us a fruit plate — but seriously, who wants a fruit plate after finding a worm in their food?
We spoke to the manager, who did refund our meal, but also casually informed us that while drinks are made with filtered water, salads are washed with tap water — the same tap water known to give tourists Bali belly. What’s worse is that when we asked the waiter at the beginning of the meal whether they used filtered water in all food prep, he assured us they did.
This place is beyond disappointing — poor food quality, hygiene issues, and misleading information from the staff. We left completely unsettled and worried about getting sick.
Would never return and absolutely do not recommend Waroeng D’Yoni to anyone visiting Ubud. The view is not worth the risk, and the food is...
Read moreAte here as part of the Bali Instagram tour that I booked with klook. I thought it would be a good restaurant but ended up finding out that it was a tourist trap. While sitting there I noticed all the same people I saw from the other locations were also guided to eat here for lunch. We spent a total of $575K for two people and the food was HORRIBLE! please do not eat here it’s the worst food in Bali! It’s honestly worth only $2USD for the ayam satay because the chicken was so DRY! And had no flavor. The sauce for the ayam satay was so bad, the chicken was hard and tough. I made the mistake of ordering tom yum goong and it was the worst take of a tom yum soup. The shiitake mushrooms tasted bitter there was way too much fiber in the soup and absolutely no lemongrass as well. My cousin ordered the nasi campur and she wouldn’t eat there again. The only thing this restaurant has going for them is the view and nothing else. I ordered a mango lassi and a freaking roach landed in there out of nowhere. It was so disgusting, I told the staff and they took it away and gave me a “new drink”. I just hope and pray they didn’t just pour my old drink into a new glass. The service was slow because there was many tourists as well as thunderstorm and...
Read moreA unique restaurant in terms of decor and ambience that caters to travellers in Bali doing their day trips across the island. We stopped over for lunch after visiting the waterfalls, and it was filled with foreigners. The beauty of this place stands in its setup overlooking the lush greenery that the island offers. They have a multi level set up allowing diners to literally sit at the edge of nature and eat. The menu offers a variety of local and international cuisine, but we obviously chose local. My friend ordered the nasi goreng with chicken satay and I ordered a chicken dish too. The chicken in my food was well cooked, but being served with plain rice made it a little bland to eat. A little curry would be good. My friend like the nasi goreng but the portion size was a bit too much to finish. She also ordered a mango smoothie to wash her meal down. We paid around 120k per person and seemed an accepted range given it caters mostly to tourists. Overall, surely a place worth visiting...
