Warung Gede — Restaurant in Bali

We pre-ordered 1.5kg of lobster and 1kg of whole fish for our Christmas lunch. The incredible food, with condiments and sides was served very quickly. So, let them know you're coming if you want lobster. The lobster is cooked in garlic butter, and it was glorious. Everything was so fresh and tasty. I won't be able to stop thinking about this meal for a long time. It was incredible and the position is right on the beach. I took a bottle of wine and they gave us glasses and ice. Warung Gede is worth a visit for the location alone: stunning sunset, surfers right in front of you, and a laid-back vibe. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel welcome straight away. The local food we had wasn’t mind-blowing – it’s solid, decent, but nothing to rave about. The prices, though, are unbeatable: a burger with fries (beef or chicken) for 35k IDR is a steal. Easily the best grilled lobster I have ever had with traditional spicy sambal sauce and also butter with garlic sauce on the side. You buy the lobster daily from the local fishermen (a fisherman named Maryano was my favorite and sells fresh lobster by the kilo) and Warung Gede grills it over coconut skin coals.
