Dandito Restaurant — Restaurant in Balikpapan

The place is buzzing the whole time I was there. I arrived around 14.00 and it was still crowded until I left around 15.30. For your convenience, making advance reservation is highly recommended 👌🏼

Once we arrived, we ordered 2 menus of crabs. Their speciality is the kepiting goreng bawang putih, so we ordered it together with kepiting lada hitam. I’d say they do better with the kepiting lada hitam (a bit spicy because of the blackpepper sauce)

The kepiting goreng bawang putih was actually good if only you eat it together with the sambal bawang (complimentary).

The crabs alone actually tasted plain in my opinion (bumbu nya kurang nyerap di kepiting) so you need to eat it with the complimentary ingredient to get the right taste (e.g. sambal, sauce).

I’m giving a 4 ⭐️ because I think this place is too hyped up 🤷🏻‍♀️ there is another place that sells crab and tastes better than here (karena bumbu nya nyerap ke dalam kepitingnya), but Dandito is still a good try and you still need to try their kepiting lada hitam 👍🏼

But if you are more into spicy food, then go for the kepiting goreng bawang putih + sambal bawang. Their sambal is great and super spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Dandito is a seafood restaurant with a specialty on Crab, Crab with Black Pepper sauce to be exact. This specialty dish is a favorite of many people. So much so that my office colleagues asked me to order for them to go. And Dandito do offer them to go and even wrap them nicely so you and your love ones can enjoy it when you're back in your city.

The sauce is so abundant with black pepper, they're not playing stingy about it either. Even so, you can still taste that it go well with other ingredients in the sauce and especially the main star of the dish.... The crabs.

Aside from the Black Pepper Crab, we also ordered the Seafood fried rice, shrimps with sweet and sour sauce and orange juice to wash it all down. I'll tell you, the fried rice goes so very well with the crab. Neither of them over power the other. As for the shrimps, you better eat them fast, otherwise they'll get soggy.

All in all, Dandito is truly a restaurant that...

everyone said that u have to try the crab if u come to Balikpapan! and @kepitingdandito is the hot place to go! 🦀

we've tried the kepiting jantan saus dandito and I'll sadly announce that crab is not my cup of tea 🥹 the meat is not as sweet as I imagined it to be, and it's such a hassle to eat with just a little meat. however, the sauce is great and everyone happy with it 🙂‍↕️

but everything else is super tasty for me! the udang saus asam manis was bomb and super clean! BUT THE FUYUNG HAI is such on another level, I'd say it's the best fuyung hai that I've tried so far. 🍤🍳

the waiting time is okay and the server were very helpful. the price was okay compared to the overall experience. I'll recommend it to everyone that visit...
