Breaktime — Restaurant in Banda Aceh

This is my first time visiting this café in its new location. From the moment I saw it from the outside, I was impressed by how incredibly aesthetic it looked for a café in Banda Aceh. The design is both pretty and eye-catching, promising a pleasant experience. However, my excitement was short-lived. As soon as I stepped inside, my first impression was completely shattered. The air conditioning was off, making the interior uncomfortably hot and stuffy. Despite the discomfort, I decided to stay and see if the food and drinks could make up for it.

I ordered coffees, nasi goreng, and tempe mendoan, hoping to enjoy a nice meal. The coffee was just okay, nothing particularly special. But, the nasi goreng was quite disappointing; it lacked flavor and did not meet the standards I expect from a café. The biggest letdown was the tempe mendoan. It didn't taste like tempe mendoan at all—it was more like regular tempe goreng tepung, missing the unique flavor and texture that tempe mendoan should have.

Overall, my experience was underwhelming. The café's appearance is promising, but there are many areas for improvement, especially regarding the interior climate control and the quality of the food. With some attention to these details, this café could truly live up to its aesthetic appeal and become a favorite...

Retro style cafe with modern twist. For me the design is not so authentic for retro style. The food is moderate. I've tried the tuna sambal dabu dabu. But as "a sambal dabu dabu" the sambal need more aromatic herbs such like thai basil or lime. Combination sambal dabu dabu with tuna is good, but adding the carrot-mayonaise salad isn't quite nice. For second dish i tried the daging balado rice, this one is better for the taste, but the meat ratio isnt enough for the rice. The barbeque chicken wing is good, but little bit too dry for me Coffee is good if you like medium body coffee, but its not a bold...

I came with my best friend nearly at the Maghrib prayer time. We ordered food and drinks to dine in and some Dim Sum for take away. The service was fast and fairly efficient. The guy who took our order are a bit rush because he wanted to make sure he can place the order before the kitchen close.Thanks for that :)

I mostly like the ice coffee. It's really taste like a real coffee. My best friend thought her food portion was small but at the end she's happy as it suit her appetite.
