If you're looking for a hearty meal in Bandung, look no further than Mie Baso Akung. This bustling Indonesian noodle restaurant is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, and it's easy to see why. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the aroma of sizzling noodles and simmering broth, making it hard to resist the temptation to order a steaming bowl of Mie Kuah or Mie Yamin BPTS.
During my recent visit to Mie Baso Akung, I was struck by the generous portions of food that were served. Each bowl of noodles was brimming with fresh vegetables, succulent pieces of meat, and savory dumplings, making it an incredibly satisfying meal. The Mie Kuah was especially noteworthy, with its rich and flavorful broth that was perfectly complemented by the chewy noodles.
The Mie Yamin BPTS, on the other hand, was a delightful combination of different flavors and textures. The mix of bakso (meatballs), pangsit (dumplings), tahu (tofu), and siomay (fish dumplings) provided a diverse range of flavors and textures, which made every bite a surprise.
Despite the crowds that flock to Mie Baso Akung, the restaurant's efficient service ensures that there is always seating available. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and they work tirelessly to ensure that each guest is served promptly.
Overall, Mie Baso Akung is a must-visit for anyone looking for a filling and satisfying meal in Bandung. The portions are generous, the flavors are bold, and the service is impeccable. If you're a fan of Indonesian noodles, you won't be...
Read moreLocated on Jalan Lodaya, near Jalan Pelajar Pejuang intersection; this restaurant was easy to find, with big, visible signage on the facade. Ample parking space both on the premise, and on the street side. Interior was pretty dark, and could use more airflow or ventilation; but it was reasonably clean. Plenty of seating. Clear signs and instructions to order and pay at the cashier, before sitting. Service was swift and quite friendly. Vinegar, soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, and 2 types of chilli sauce were readily available on the table. A small glass of warm tea was served immediately upon seating, free of charge. Menu was simple, with enough variations or combinations. Prices were average. Portion was pretty large. I ordered 'Yamin Sedang' with 'Pangsit, Bakso, Siomay' - noodle was on the softer side, only slightly springy; there was no depth of flavour, only slight saltiness and sweetness from the sweet soy sauce (I'm guessing 'Anggur' brand); not too oily. The noodle was served with shredded chicken topping, which surprisingly was not too dry, slightly smokey, and well seasoned. As for the side dish - broth was very good, rich, well seasoned; meatballs were nice, chewy and meaty; 'pangsit' or dumplings were not very good, thick skin, with shredded chicken filling, similar with the noodle topping, with some spices added, and tasted like filling for 'lemper' - not recommended; 'siomay' or fish dumpling was fishy, with too much flour - unpleasant in terms of texture and flavour. Overall, it was...
Read moreThe broth of the noodle has a nice taste, looks like they are using ayam kampung that will affect better to the taste of the broth.
The Mie Ayam is al dente, properly cooked n not overcooked at all, still perfectly chewy. I order mie ayam with kuah (not yamin) on full portion, n i believe that i sould take the ½ portion instead of the full one. A bit too much for me. N this does not include the topping where i also order the Bakso, Ceker, Bakso Tahu, Pangsit n Somay served with different bowl that makes me gave up to continue eating. This is beyond the taste of the mie ayam which for me is lack of something, it still good, but for me not to special that makes me want it more.
The taste of the bakso is good n it is meaty while the ceker is soooo tender that I dont neet to take any effort to loose the meat off the bone.
Unfortunately the taste of the siomay, pangsit, n the bakso tahu are just not for me, a bit tasteless for the bakso tahu n siomay, n for the pangsit the stuffing inside while its very generous, it just not for me.
So, do i want to get back again? Certainly, i still curious on mie ayam yamin or the bihun, n for the rujak stall right in front...
