I was told by my Batam friend, Mr Azwar that this place was popular among the local and tourists.
So I decided to give it a try. Location wise it was not too far from Batam city centre, it was about 1 hour drive by car,
Comparing to the other seafood kelong restaurant which I have patronised, eg, the Kopak 007 seafood, which is also near the Barelang Bridge No.1. Kelong Jembatan Satu set up was small.
On the day , 4 June, afternoon, there was only one live fish, tiger grouper in the cage, the others cages were mud crab, flower crab, white prawn, white clamp and local lobsters.
We ordered curry crab as I read about its review was good, porched white prawn with garlic and a plate of sambal kankong
Curry sauce was good but the mud crab was too small, hence did not get to eat much of the crab meat
The white prawn was well steamed, not over cook. The sambal kankong was normal, the usual kind that you can eat at any chi char eating places in Singapore or Malaysia or in other restaurant in Batam
The young male workers in charge of cages were not interested in their job. They were talking to each other even though they saw us waving to them. I went up to them and sort of instructed them to scoop the prawns. Bad working attitude
The food was served after 25 minutes of waiting, I assumed this was because there were not many customers at the time. The young woman staff and man staff serving us the food were efficient
There was very slow running water at the tap for washing your hand. So I suggest you bring a large bottle of drinking water
The toilet was very run down, no water for washing your hand. The owner must really upgrade the restaurant toilets and hand washing facility
Overall, I would not go again to Kelong Jembatan Satu Seafood The cost for our simple lunch - curry crab, white prawn, sambal kangkong and rice, a coconut and teh tarik dingin...
Read moreHad a very bad experience dining at this place. We ordered a few dishes including Ikan Bakar. All the dishes were served except the fish and we were almost done eating. The waitress who took down our order had all along been sitting down at a corner on her HP, not even realizing the ikan had not been served. So we went about washing our hands and requested the bill from the waitress. Even at this instance the waitress did not realize the fish was not on the table. Then she came with the bill and the tray of fish. Initially we refused to pay for the fish as it was clearly their negligence for overlooking or even forgetting about the order. The restaurant staff (another guy and lady) apologized for their mistake and they repeatedly said they can't cancel the charge. We even offered to pay just 50% of the charge, but they sounded rather pitiful and even said that the waitress will hv to bear the remaining 50%. We agreed to pay the full sum at this point as we didn't want to let the waitress foot the bill for her mistake. We decided never to step into the place again. Anyways, food was also...

After a short visit to barelang bridge, we thought to drop by this restaurant to try their seafood. Food variety was good and it tasted good as well.
The only downside would be the location of the restaurant. While it boasts a very nice view of the river as well as the bridge, it's quite a steep slope down beside the start of barelang bridge. Also, be sure to either drive here or to hire a driver as we experienced difficulty in booking a cab out of the area. We tried Grab and Gojek for 30minutes but we only managed to get a driver from Maxim.
Otherwise, definitely recommend and would...
