Combination of Bebek H. Slamet with Bebek Goreng Suryo in Jakarta. Delicious and tasty fried duck!

We are on our way to West Java from Jogja and was specifically searching for iconic meals from Purworejo. And this Bebek Goreng happen to listed as number one place to visit. Who can resist fried duck? Especially cooked traditionally with wood not gas or oil.

They also provide chicken and pigeon for our choice. But we tried duck and chicken only.

Served with usual vegetables dressing and two kind of sambal (red and green one) the green one was our favourite because it is similar to sambel korek (contains garlic and fried oil). And they also served a small bowl of oil that they used to fried the duck. We can use the oil and pour it into the rice. Adding the taste while enjoying the duck. They called it curry—flavour oil.

Place was not that clean, it was an old restaurant. What to expect?

Just visit, order, eat, wash your hand, pay the bill and leave. Hopefully we can return here...
