RM. Ampera Banyumasan — Restaurant in Central Java

Delicious local food in Purwokerto. They serve traditional food that are healthy and fresh. All food made by order, so the service is quite slow. But don’t worry, it pays off. The foods here are yummy. Also that the servers are friendly and funny, speaking in their accent, so that you will not feel of waiting for some times.

The place is also having a good ambience with a nice interior of wooden traditional furniture and decorations. You may sit on a dinning set or you can also sit in the bar section, so that you can see them preparing the food.

Price is also affordable, ranged about 5K-40K, it is good for lunch or dinner in a group. Always crowded at meals time, especially lunch time. So be patient enough to get your order. My favorite will be pepes tahu, mendoan, tempe and tahu goreng, and mie ganyong (made from cassava flour). Also they have puding kelapa which is the best for your dessert, perfect to end your meal here.

If only I could recommend is the toilet cleanliness. They should...

One of the signature parts in my two-day stop-by in Purwokerto, the capital of Banyumas District. It's a traditional food stall, serving a variety of traditional foods, with typical 'Banyumasan' dialect-speaking waitresses who are funny, friendly and welcoming. I might come to this traditional place more frequently if I stay longer in town, to get to know more the local dishes. For those who are craving for traditional Banyumasan meals, this special food stall deserve to be in the list, particularly for those who are not yet familiar with Banyumasan typical dishes. The location of the restaurant wmis not really strategic. It can't be seen clearly from the road. The place offers many kind of Indonesian cuisines. They're all delicious. The price is moderate and the way they display the food is really unique (you can see it in the photo).
