Marugame udon — Restaurant in City of Medan

great service with very helpful and friendly staffs! the food is good as always, worth it for the price. affordable too. plenty of side dishes to choose from, and pretty nice drinks that you can refill. the place is super cozy for families, friends hanging out, or even just for going alone. the prayer room is very nice (small, but nice. clean, comfy, and super neat unlike most restaurants that put prayer room in like "excess unused space", and the prayer robes for women are also clean!)

they can get pretty crowded (but not exactly packed or full) especially during weekends, so if you prefer calmer ambiance and you don't mind going downstairs to refill most of the condiments/toppings, the second floor is perfect! it's far less crowded, calmer, easy access to the prayer room and windows viewing to the street, and they also have power sockets for people who may need it. my friends and I can stay hours there, just enjoying our food and having a really good time and just keep ordering again once...

The MOST rasis staff ever, i know most of the staff even customers was muslim , when i'm the only chinese step in the resraurant, the front staff pretend to be busy and not even ask me what kind of menu do i want, then i have to go to cashier to order, and the cashier was so arrogant...the third time i went to this place, i should should have keep my mind when second time i went in, i already make comment on google map to be the last time i went to this branch..regret i come today. Tempatnya tidak begitu luas ya, namun ada 2 lantai. Untuk pelayanannya sama seperti cabang lainnya. Namun sangat disayangkan di lantai 2 tempat untuk mengambil bumbu, cabai dan minuman selalu habis dan jarang diisi ulang. Sehingga yang makan di lantai 2 harus turun ke lantai 1 untuk mengambil bumbu dan cabai. Saya memesan chicken Katsu kare udon.

Kuah karenya kental, aromanya harum kali, dan rasanya pas nggak terlalu pedas tapi tetap ada kick-nya. Udon-nya kenyal, nggak lembek, dan cocok sama kuah karenya yang gurih. Yang bikin makin mantap sih chicken katsu-nya: luarnya crispy, dalemnya juicy, nggak overcooked, dan porsinya juga nggak pelit. Disajikan masih panas, jadi tiap suapan tuh berasa comforting banget, apalagi kalau lagi capek atau cuaca dingin. 🌧️🍜 Minumnya aku pesen lemon tea, dan surprisingly enak juga. Segar, asamnya pas, manisnya nggak lebay, dan cocok buat netralin rasa gurih dari kare udon tadi. Jadi seimbang di mulut.

Oh iya, aku juga cobain beberapa gorengan tapi lupa namanya satu-satu, tapi ada tempura gitu. Semuanya digoreng dengan apik, renyah tapi nggak berminyak, dan ada saus celupnya juga yang makin nambahin rasa. Tempatnya juga nyaman buat makan santai.
