Depot Cak ASMO — Restaurant in Denpasar Barat

I used to eat here so many times and since I was young. This place is legendary, has been around for ages.

It used to be so simple. The place was like any other ordinary restaurants, serving delicious food and packed with customers. Price was awesome, everyone can afford this place. Their slogan was "harga kaki lima, rasa bintang lima". And it was! Price was affordable for the delicious food. We even feel OK with the heat of the place inside because of low ceiling and heat from the cooking spreading around eating area.

But now, it seems that this place is only for med to high class only. Place looks really good though. Looks modern. But not as many people as before. Not super crowded like what it used to be. And I missed that feeling when there are so many people around, reminds me of Jogja's food stall that packed with customers eating in a place.

Anyway, i can understand the owner's choice to upgrade the place into a better and modern place, and also raised the standard and prices and service.

Cak Asmo is never going to be the same like what I used to know. And this new generation will never know how it used to be packed with people eating...

Their dishes are mainly seafood, you should try their crab, it's pretty good with sauces that you could choose. There are other menus like nasi goreng (fried rice), noodles, chickens and smoothies. The place is somehow stuffy, maybe because lack of ventilation, although there are fiercely blowing fans.
