Maken Fried Chicken — Restaurant in Depok

Had mixed feelings about this new place...

Saw this place and immediately went here, at first glance, it is quite nice, very cool design and color scheme, and the place itself is comfy i would say. They also have a good spread of menus. Customer service is great, server explained the menu. The food came in less than 10 minutes and here is where i start questioning things:

Drinks The drinks came in very big sizes and as the name suggest (teh "arab" & kopi susu "arab) i think they put some kind of spices in there which gives quite a unique flavor and aroma. I liked the tea, not overly sweet but also not less sweet. But the coffee, i don't know how to put it, maybe just my preference but i think the spice do not go well with coffee, it's not sweet either considering the "kopi susu" name, but hey this is personal opinion.

Food Ordered quite a bunch, but what i can say overall is, the food is kinda bland? for it being a "middle eastern" food i expect a strong taste and aroma, but what i got is only aroma. The chicken is not as strong as i think, and the spicy version is not spicy at all, in fact i can't tell a difference between the original one and the spicy one. The briyani rice is one of the better options, it is quite flavorful but i personally think it's not special in any circumstances. The samosa as well is the better option.

Overall, good place and service, but meh food, might come here again to try other...

The spicy chicken was not spicy, just savory. I couldn't find that Middle Eastern taste. The batter coating wasn't as crispy as expected. The biryani rice is not spicy either, just savory and had slightly smokey aroma. The hot tea was nice, each seasoned with 3 cardamom pods, but it was very sweet. The hot coffee (it's nescafe) was also seasoned with 3 cardamom pods. Such a shame that those pods were uncracked, so that nice aroma wasn't well released. The crispy potato wedges were very delicious, tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. We had to wait 36 minutes for our orders, although it was past lunchtime. Fortunately, the staff was polite and helpful. The place was nice, neat and clean. Judulnya penasaran dengan resto ini karena sering lewat didepannya. Awalnya mengira paling rasanya sama dengan Alm4z yang sedan menjamur, tapi ternyata salah.

Kami makan malam disini dengan memesan King Grilled dan King Lamb sebagai menu utama. Setelah merasakannya begini penilaian kami:

King grilled (grilled ayam), ayam nya enak sekali ukurannya cukup besar, sambalnya enak, nasi briyani nya sangat berasa rempah nya.

King Lamb (daging domba), dagingnya empuk dan enak sekali ukurannya cukup, sambal nya enak, dan nasi briyani nya juara.

Paket nya dilengkapi dengan es teh arab (teh melati) yang seger banget dan sangat berasa harum melatinya. Ini salah satu teh paling enak di resto fast food menurut saya.

Mix platter maken juga cocok buat makan anak yang kadang susah makan karena isinya ada Samosa, Nugget chicken, 2 jenis french fries dan kulit ayam goreng. Di mix platter ini dikasih bumbu tandoori terpisah yg uenak dan pedes.. joss.. kalau di mix ke nasi briyani nya.

Resto nya sendiri nyaman dan bersih banget.
