Golden Fish Restaurant — Restaurant in East Nusa Tenggara

Quite pricey (spent 385k for 4 ppl), but definitely the best place to eat seafood in Maumere that we’ve eaten so far.

The only live seafood available is the lobster, while the fishes are fresh / already in ice and there isn’t many choice available. We ordered Ikan Kakap Merah Bakar Rica (30k/ounch). The fish tastes pleasant and isn’t fishy at all. Quite spicy with the dabu-dabu but they’re good combinations indeed.

The Calamari or Cumi Goreng Tepung (60k) is tender and good as well. Capcay (50k) is decent, but we expect better for the price.

There isn’t many option of drink that we can choose, but beer is available beside water, tea, es jeruk, and soft drink.

The serving-time is very long, despite the place being not crowded....

One of the best underrated seafood restaurant in Maumere, Sikka Regency, East Flores. You can order almost all kind of seas creature for food 😅. This was a dreadful meal. The fish is overpriced. We were mislead about the cost of what we had ordered. When the fish arrived the marinade was cold and somehow served separately. We had to do it ourselves. The restaurant smelt of sewage and decaying fish and we watched rats crawling on the streets beneath the balcony. We ordered the stir fried mushrooms.
