RM. Istana Berkat — Restaurant in East Nusa Tenggara

I revisited this place after 6 years (or more, probably), the place is definitely more cozy than before, but the food is so-so, I ordered grilled clams and (maybe?) I got a bad batch, some bigger clams are so undercooked that the stench stays when you eat it, even the clam's juice smells fishy, my wife gagged when she had one (that was funny but also disappointing). More of a full-scale professional restaurant than a Warung or RM. I had fish à la Istana Berkat, in a spicy sauce, and it was excellent indeed - spicy, savoury, tender and juicy. Seating is on a very cozy and peaceful terrace. Oh, and they have o.k. priced cold Heineken....

The 5* is because it was the only place I was able to find beer, and it was cold, and Heineken. Food option not for western. Grilled fish was good. Service sometimes there sometimes not. It will be good if can separate the smoking places and...
