Umaku Sushi — Restaurant in Gunung Putri

Umaku Sushi is quite a fun sushi place. The first time I came on a Saturday night so it was natural that it was busy. The place is not that big but ok. I came alone and just went straight in because there was no queue. I sat down immediately and it didn't take long for the staff to give me a menu to order.

The type of sushi I ordered was enough to eat alone. Their Salmon Maki is very tasty with very thick portions of salmon. All types of sushi they serve are all delicious, fresh and big.

As for the place, it's not that big so it's a bit cramped when walking. It looks like this place has 2 floors but I've never eaten on the second floor. Even though the place is not that big, the AC on the 1st floor is quite OK, not too hot.

For appetizers they provide free edamame but if there are few customers.

The staff and the chef are also friendly.

For payments currently they only accept payments via transfer to BCA bank. So you can't use debit/credit cards or other online payments.

The service time from when I ordered until the food arrived was around 30 minutes (OK because it was very busy on a Saturday night). For the second time I tried going to Umaku on Saturday afternoon. It turned out there were very few customers, so my food arrived in about 10-15...

I really enjoy the food here and the Sushi chefs do a great job in preparation and think it one of the better places for good Sushi at a reasonable price. In my opinion they really need to put some money into increasing the space downstairs so when you sit at the counter or across from it you're not getting bumped into from waiters and people coming and going. I prefer to eat downstairs so I can watch the preparation of the food. The upstairs is a bit more open but its not warm and relaxing so you can enjoy a tasty meal. A little attention to the interior design and I believe I would always give 5 stars. I will leave you on a good note though. The food is fresh and all made from scratch, so in my opinion it's well worth going there if you enjoy Sushi and want a tasty experience. Today I had some Uni and it was delicious. If i could afford it I would have Uni daily. I have not found another Sushi restraunt in this area that serves Uni and that tells me alot about Umaki, the food they serve is important to...

Saya makan di sini jam 12.30 hari kamis. Ramai, tapi ga penuh, jadi nyaman.

Duduk di meja bar di depan chefnya. Chefnya ramah, waitersnya juga gercep. Saya ke sini dengan 1 toddler, 2 dewasa. Jadi chefnya pengertian banget waktu saya minta cutlery buat si bocil.

Ambientnya cukup nyaman, dengan lagu background yang tidak berisik dan ganggu.

Saya pesan: Sake sashimi 10/10 - potongannya besaar, chewy, ga amis, lobak putihnya juga ga pahit.

Swordfish roll 9/10- 5 pcs sushi roll, daging swordfish chewy,  fishroenya juga crunchy. Disajikannya hangat waktu ikannya selesai digrill

Inari zushi 8/10- 2 potong sushi kulit tahu yang maniis dan gurih diisi nasi. Menu ini terlalu manis buat seleraku, tapi kata suamiku yang suka makanan manis, ini enak bangett.

Cawan mushi 7/10- porsinya kecil, tapi isiannya lengkap dari udang, bakso ikan, jamur dan edamame. Untuk rasa cawan mushinya bagiku B aja. Karena kukira bakal gurih, tapi ini gurihnya sedikit aja, mungkin karena dia ngebawa topingnya yang flavorful, jadi rasa telur kukusnya dibikin humble. (Ape si? 🥲 )

Shoyu Ramen 10/10- wah ini kuahnya wuenak banget. Kuahnya hearty, gurih, manis. Makan ini pas hujan2 cocok deh. Mienya kenyal tapi mudah dikunyah, ukurannya juga sedang. Potongan dagingnya pas masuk mulut rasanya kayak makan potongan daging semur tapi ga alot, ga terlalu lembut jg. Sayurannya ada wakame dan sayur hijau 1 lagi saya lupa hehe.

Natto maki temari 8/10- oke, ini pertama kalinya saya mencoba natto. Waiternya juga sampai ngecek apa saya pernah coba natto sebelumnya? Akhirnya terjawab juga, ternyata rasanya lumayan jarang di masakan indo, saya rasa mirip tauco, tapi lebih terfermentasi lagi. Temari Natto maki di sini porsinya lumayan besar, dan bagi saya enak kalau ditambah shoyu dan wasabi.

Chuka Idako 9/10- manis, kenyal, banyak. Baby guritanya gimana ya? chewy tapi crunchy? Saus merahnya manis.

Ocha dingin 10/10- ocha enak, suegerr, tawar tapi ada sedikit manisnya.

Ketika udah kekenyangan, chefnya ngasih complementary: Salmon belly aburi 10/10 - oh wow ini mantep banget. Potongan salmon belly kan banyak lemaknya ya, jadi ini begitu masuk mulut dia meleleh doong, dan ini dia udah ada sausnya di atasnya jadi gaperlu pake shoyu lagi. Yang dikasih ke kita ini katanya karena free jadi potongannya kecil. Tapi bagi kita segitu aja udah sebuah potongan piece yang proper di sushi**i. Wah next time ke sini kudu pesen yang salmon belly ini lagi.

Tadi kita sempet nontonin chefnya bikin Jyo Sashimi Set, yang isinya 7 macam sashimi yang cuantek banget ditatanya. Tapi karena kita udah kekenyangan, jadi ga begitu ngiler ngeliatnya hehe.

Karena tadi hujan deras, chefnya nawarin buat dianter ke mobil. Jadi kita selamat deh ga basah sampai mobil.✨️

Overall pelayanan, tempat dan rasa makanannya bagus banget...
