126 Dimsum & Duck House — Restaurant in Jakarta

My friend told me about an AYCE promo at 126 Dimsum & Duck House in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, and asked me to check it out. At first, we were hesitant since the restaurant’s branding didn’t seem convincing, but we decided to give it a shot anyway.

And we were delighted! Everything was so good—flavors were on point, ingredients were fresh, and portions were super generous. Even though the promo limited us to one item per customer per type, it was more than enough. We barely managed to finish fewer than 10 dim sum and maybe two mains, all for sharing.

Some standouts for me were the lobak goreng and cakwe goreng ayam, both super crispy. Their siew mai was also excellent, but my absolute favorite was the xiao long bao.

For the mains, we opted for the Chili Oil Duck (Bebek), and it was amazing—the duck meat was fresh, tender, and packed with flavor. We also had the Mixed BBQ Hainanese Rice, which was super savory and fragrant.

The restaurant itself has a humble yet contemporary Chinese vibe (clean nevertheless), but the real highlight is the taste, freshness, and portion sizes. They even have Le Minerale chiller for serving cold mineral water. The friendly owner even told us about a Qpon promo for even better deals. Service was rather awkward but still decent. Definitely...

regularly I visit this dinsum den nowadays when i miss dinsum... the taste is as good as before with the 20% discount considered as an additional value...

However I put some input for further improvement in question box and I will rewrite it here:

Lo Mai Gai will taste better if you served in lotus leaf wrapped... the smell of leaves and the taste will make this dish much better

Chiu Chew Oily Chilli Sauce was not available last nite... this is a big mistake in a dinsum den.... hope it will never be happened again with better inventory management

Fried kwetiau... try other style... as many of your neighbourhood are kwetiau specialist with good reputation and taste... maybe Penang Charkwetiau or White Charkwetiau (like the one in Medan)....

Overall your dishes are great to try, my favourite are wonton dry noodle, angsio kaki ayam, bakpao telur asin (not sure the name...), and...

KALO MAU BELI AYCE BACA DLU INI! Kesini karena ada AYCE 60 ribu dr Grab Dine In... Punya ekspetasi yg ckp tinggi karena review di google baik, sampe sana jujur cukup 1x saja, ini kenapa: AYCE aturannya sgt amat banyak & ribet, 60 mnt dengan last order di 45 (tapi anehnya dimana" Kan makan dlu kalo datng jam 17.30 yaa 18.15 baru di tanyain mau order apalagi, ini jam 17.50 (makanan yg pertama baru dipesen baru keluar udh ditagih "mau pesen apalagi kak? Udh last order" Ternyata itungannya karena Jam AYCE sampe jam 18.00 saja... Barukali ini yg kayak gini... Yasudah saya ikuti saja dlu... Dan lebih aneh lagi adalah (point 2) Menu BANYAK yang tdk termasuk AYCE dan per orang/per pax itu HANYA BOLEH pesan SATU Menu (misal saya karena sendiri kalo pesen HAKAU yaa gaboleh pesen lagi) WOW sekali bukan? Saran saya jika memang tidak mau rugi jgn lah buat promo AYCE...udah menu pilihannya dikit BANYAK yang habis pula kebanyakan gorengan, mie, nasi dan bubur. Oh iya kalo minuman harus beli lagi, 10K free refill untuk Chinese tea & Es Teh tapi enak kok tehnya, worth Ini point paling FATAL. Saya harap ini jadi perhatian MANAJEMEN, mungkin entah karena saya paket AYCE apakah beda dengan batch makanan yg Ala Carte, tapi jujur SEMUA daging"an terutama yang daging ayam TIDAK FRESH! Ada bau tertentunya (kayak makanan yg udh dimasak dan lama ditaruh dikulkas) dan itu paling berasa di CAKWE UDANG AYAM nya.. Saking baunya dimulut saya ga kuat dan muntahkan karena bau saat dikunyah (bukan yg menyengat banget tapi menganggu), sisanya saya usahakan makan pakai teh, supaya ga denda... Unrukmenu lainnya lagi yg mengandung ayam (shu mai) itu juga sangat berasa bahwa dagingnya tidak fresh... Untyk menu lainnya (saya pesan bubur & mie bebek panggang) itu bubur dan mienya yaa B aja, gaada yg spesial... Dan terpenting BEBEKnya juga kurang fresh, kurang berbumbu juga, lalu hoisin saucenya juga hanya manis saja... Yang membuat bintang 2 disini ada pelayan nya, ramah dan responsif...

Masukan dr saya tolong orang yg promo AYCE itu jgn dibedakan (jika memang dibedakan) org kalo dtg enak kan bisa jadi pelanggan, bukankah itu tujuan promo? Supaya mendatangkan calon kustomer baru dengan harapan jadi pelanggan? Pastikan juga selalu FRESH! APAPUN YANG...
