Last night (30/08/2024), I had the opportunity to dine with a one-star general from the Indonesian Navy at Bebek Kaleyo. Given my long-standing loyalty to the restaurant—dating back to when they operated out of a simple tent—I expected nothing less than a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, the evening took a disappointing turn.

We ordered a variety of dishes, including dim sum, which, to our dismay, had an unpleasant odor resembling that of a cockroach. Concerned, I brought this to the attention of the waitress. However, rather than offering an apology, she merely stated that she would replace the dish. To add to the frustration, despite paying the bill, the promised replacement dim sum never arrived. It was a regrettable lapse in service from a restaurant I've trusted for so long.

Despite this setback, I must acknowledge that the rest of the menu was as splendid as always. Bebek Kaleyo has a reputation for quality, and it’s a shame this incident marred the evening.

Interestingly, the late hour also brought its share of unusual sights. As we dined, we couldn’t help but notice a couple in a heated argument. It appeared the boyfriend had been unfaithful, and the girlfriend was visibly upset—understandably so. It was quite the scene, and the girlfriend, I must admit, was strikingly attractive.

In conclusion, while Bebek Kaleyo continues to deliver in terms of food quality, this experience highlights the importance of consistent customer service. I hope they address these issues so that future visits can be as enjoyable as the ones I've had...

So lucky to have Bebek Kaleyo near my house. Bebek Kaleyo is one of the best Duck restaurants with a great menu and the price is very good.

Its very recommended for you, if you enjoyed eating Duck. You should try their various Sambal. But the original still be the best sambal ever to eat duck, because its very spicy. But if you don’t really like spicy, just try the Cabe Ijo (green chili).

My first taste of fried duck in Indonesia. Never knew duck meat can be so juicy and tender. The duck used here is of smaller size and for an adult like me, 1 whole duck then is sufficient. Find that the normal fried duck is better than the green chili dressings. Sambal chili available at the table is just right for the fried duck. Sate is a bit tough.
