Bruen Coffee & Kitchen — Restaurant in Jakarta

The café, which is said to have only opened around December 2020, seems to have become increasingly known to the community and local workers. It can be seen, even though it is during the COVID-19 Pandemic, customers of all ages are coming in from time to time. Some come with their family, spouse or coworkers. We both came here because we were looking for a place where it could sit, relax and chit chat in a place with good ambience while having coffee and snacks.

The food and drink menu is quite varied. And, they have a number of signature drinks. They provide foods that are suitable for breakfast to dinner, for example burgers, steaks, pasta, pizza and fried rice. Meanwhile, the two of us ordered Iced Chocolate Ball Coffee, Espresso Nutella, Almost Nuts and 400 ml Pristine bottled water. To accompany the drinks that will be served, we ordered Chicken Quesadillas and Loaded Frie. All the drinks and food are delicious. The price is not cheap compared to most other coffee shops. As long as the two of us were there, the service was quite fast, friendly, not stiff or arrogant, and informative

The place is not only clean but also quite spacious with the option to sit on a chair or sofa, and either downstairs or upstairs. The place is comfortable to sit back, chat while enjoying food. For those who smoke, there is a large room on the top floor. Toilets are available downstairs and upstairs. The prayer room is on the ground floor and is quite clean. The parking lot can accommodate incoming cars without disturbing the traffic in front of the café. But, if this place is getting more popular and the number of vehicles coming in is increasing, maybe management needs to provide alternative parking lots for its customers.

One more thing, if you look at Google Maps, Jl. Becakayu Toll Road is located just outside of Jl. IN. Panjaitan. So, this café is right on the side of Jl. Becakayu toll road. If we use Google Maps as directions, then we are directed to take Jl. Becakayu toll road and rotates at...

We had high expectations because the menu looked promising. We ordered fried stuffed tofus, some kind of grilled chicken pesto spaghetti (forgot the full name), soto betawi, honeydew juice, and iced tea. but we were somewhat disappointed. The pesto spaghetti and chicken was bland - we prefered the side garlic bread that came with instead of the actual pasta and chicken. The tofus look unique, they used fried chicken breading but they were also bland - we didn't like the sauce - tasted weirdly sweet.

on the flip side - soto betawi, honeydew juice, and iced tea are quite nice. the soto tasted really good, there were a lot of beefs and the broth tastes nicely balanced. we also appreciate the portion sizes. meanwhile for the honeydew juice and iced tea - they were quite okay. it's hard to mess those two beverages up.

what we would suggest is to downsize the menu items (too many!!) and focus on the flavors, also please train your staffs better. we had an awkward encounter with one of the servers, we asked for tacos and he said "we didn't have any. we usually have tachos (pronounced like nachos) but we also don't have it". he said it in a confident and mocking way...😅 it was rather funny but please train them better. one of the security guys also demanded for a parking fee??? he didnt ask, he demanded. but he didn't even help us to park in the first place.

overall - a mediocre place that needs a lot of improvement. could be better. it has a lot of potential.

RESTORAN BAD SERVICE NOT RECOMMENDED! 👎👎

Ini kedua kali saya kesini, pengalaman pertama saya kira testfood akan di sajikan makanan yg ada di package ternyata hanya di sajikan 4 menu untuk 4 pax, sedangkan kami 9 pax. Namanya testfood semua makanan disajikan sesuai tamu yg datang. Kalo memang tidak di sediakan testfood bilang juga. Udah gitu gak ada konfirmasi yang keluar makanan hanya 4 , dan makanan testfood dikeluarkan lama setelah customer sudah kenyang dengan pembelian sendiri. Pelayanan untuk waitressnya attitudenya minus.

Waiter BAD ATTITUDE , SOMBONG, UNDERESTIMATE PELANGGAN!! Kami pelanggan datang dan MAMPU utk bayar disitu, tapi seakan2 diperlakukan seperti kami ngemis2. Saya kira ini subjektif, tapi di google review lainnya juga banyak yg sudah notice attitude buruk.

CHEFF AZIZ sama BAD ATTITUDE tidak ada ramah sama sekali dengan pelanggan, merasa paling berkuasa di restoran, say sorry ke pelanggan aja kayanya enggan. Kenapa makanan bisa rusak dan tidak layak saji ? Kenapa ga di spare bahan bakunya jika tidak layak saji ? Seharusnya spare bahan bakunya jika gagal di buat lagi sebelum acara makan siang.

MARKETING TANTI KURANG KOORDINASI terkait makanan yang tidak tersedia karna rusak. Kalo memang tidak layak saji kenapa tidak di infokan dari sebelum jam acara ? Itu masih banyak spare waktu loh buat bikin lagi. Jam 10 sudah ready harusnya sebelum jam 10 udah bisa sambil masak & siapkan makanan yang tidak layak saji, minimal kordinasi. Jam 11 baru di kasih tau setelah makanannya di cek , kalo ga di cek lagi bisa bablas gak ada 1 menu. Dari awal negoisasi juga udah kurang kordinasinya.

PENIPU TEMPAT bilangnya akan ada acara lagi untuk pelanggan selanjutnya, realitanya TIDAK ADA PELANGGAN SELANJUTNYA. PELIT DENGAN WAKTU GAK DI KASIH SPARE WAKTU SEDIKIT PUN. Jam 1 udah harus bubar. Ini sih sudah penipuan, sengaja supaya kami bisa langsung pergi dari lokasi / supaya resto bisa di pake customer lain! Padahal kita disini juga bayar bukan makan gratis. Hati-hati untuk pelanggan yang baru kesini, mereka sengaja buat supaya resto ini selalu terlihat ramai!

MENU CORDN BLUE TIDAK LAYAK MAKAN. kalo tidak layak di makan tutup aja restorannya. Tidak bisa prepare dengan baik dan benar. Kalo tidak layak dimakan harusnya langsung masak ulang buat gantinya, ini malah tidak ada kordinasi di marketing ataupun cheffnya. Baru tau pas acara sudah mulai karna di cek kembali. Kalo ga di cek ulang bisa kelewatan. Itupun mau di ganti dengan spagheti menu yg tidak setara cordn blue itu lauk harusnya di ganti dengan lauk yg ada di menu malah di kasih mie yang murah dan gampang. Gak preapare juga bahan bakunya jika tidak layak makan, bilang bahan bakunya harus beli dulu dan makan waktu 2 jam. Kalo di prepare dari awal gagal harusnya cordn blue bisa jadi bukan di biarin tanpa kordinasi. KALO GAMAU RUGI JANGAN LICIK JUGA!!!
