Pagi Sore — Restaurant in Jakarta

While many Padang restaurants seem to blend together, Pagi Sore really does seem to stand out. Firstly, I know they’re only boiled eggs, but they leave their yolks a bit softer to the effect of them being a bit like soft boiled eggs. Both the spicy and curry eggs were great. The crispy beef heart was a nice offering and tasted great also. The beef rendang was of course a highlight of the meal, along with the jenkol. Some of the things I didn’t try looked good as well, maybe I will be even more adventurous next time. Service was very good as well. Pay no mind to the other Americans reviewing this place who have so sense of adventure or openness when it comes to food, they shouldn’t be doing restaurant reviews if they’re not even tasting the food. Back to my favorite Padang restaurant. As usual, I always ordered their Ayam Pop, Ayam Goreng, and Rendang. All of their menu is really nice, living it up to their famous popularity. All of their menu is totally recommended. But I never stray from chicken, beef or shrimp. Don't hesitate to ask for their chicken curry broth, pop chicken broth and rendang seasoning. I had the worst service experience at Pagi Sore Cempaka Putih. One of the male staff members (his name was either Ari or Adi) was extremely unprofessional. He threw my food, including the rendang, onto the table, which is completely unacceptable for a restaurant of this standard.

Service like this should not be tolerated. Employees in the hospitality industry should have proper work ethics, not serve customers based on their mood. I sincerely hope the management takes immediate action—whether through proper training or, if necessary, replacing staff who cannot maintain...
