Always love Sate Maranggi from Haji Yetty.
We used to go the original restaurant in Purwakarta, which is 1.5 hours drive from Jakarta. We are very happy that the new restaurant is now open not far from our house.
The restaurant is very spacious, smaller than the original one yet stil big and comfortable. It has long tables and benches which can easily accommodate big groups coming here. The last time we came here, We just have to wait a little while to get our table cleared and cleaned.
We ordered Sate Maranggi, the beef and the chicken ones lamb/goat soup, steam rice, fritters or gorengan. The food is tasty and delicious. For the satay, I can taste the fresh meat and herbs like coriander. They don’t give you peanut sauce, but you get a freshly chopped tomatoes and chili, which you can mix with sweet soybean sauce to your liking. The fritters are also tasty and warm.
They have different kind of gulai or curry, fried rice, and chicken noodles with meatballs as well. They also offer grilled chicken and fish. Next time coming here I’d like to try them.
The service is fast. The staff is quite friendly. Paying is also fast with three cashiers stand by and are ready to help.
The restaurant is also assessable and comfortable for person with disabilities. ♿️. I have not checked the toilet though.
The parking lot is also big and spacious, enough to accommodate many cars. You only need to pay Rp 5000 when you go out.
The price is manageable, with lamb satay is Rp 6000,- (USD 40cent) per piece; beef satay Rp 5500,- and chicken satay is Rp 5000,- per piece.
Happy to go...
Read moreNo need to go far to Purwakarta if you miss Haji Yetty's Maranggi Satay. Now there are branches in Jakarta, Bandung, Tangerang, Karawang and Cibubur. The restaurant in Jakarta is spacious with many tables & chairs available so that it can accommodate around 350 people. I ordered 1 portion of goat soup, 1 portion of beef maranggi satay, 2 white rice and 3 fried foods.Fried foods are offered while waiting for the food to arrive or can be eaten as dessert. The goat soup is great because the meat is tender, the broth is without fat/oil, the taste of celery and carrots can still be felt in the broth. The beef satay is also great because the meat is tender and the spices can be felt even though there is no peanut sauce given on the plate that is served. On the plate there are only slices of tomatoes and green chilies that have been ground so you can add sweet soy sauce according to your taste. I ate fried bakwan as an appetizer & fried bananas as dessert. The service is fast & the parking lot...
Read moreIn Jakarta, skewed beef or "sate sapi" only served in limited locations only and I therefore is excited to visit this place.
The place is quite large in which the parking lot can hold numerous cars and lots of table as well. It even larger than its branch in Cibubur.
But still, during lunch time, finding parking lot and a table is challenging.
The taste is simillar to the Cibubur branch. Sometime you're lucky to get a nice tender and juicy sate and if you're unlucky, you'll get those overcooked chewy sate. But still edible. Just need extra effort to eat them.
The beef soup is perfect all the time. Just make sure you get it served along with the rice in time.
The service is quite fast, considering there are lots of visitor dining.
Payment can be made with hard cash, qris and debit cards. Not sure about credit cards though. But I think they accept it as well.
Overall, it's one of my...
