First Sei (famous Kupang smokey meat) restaurant in Jakarta.
This new smallish place was almost full when we came, and guests always coming replacing ones that finished dining.
Order must be done in cashier before we were assigned to table. We order 3 beef sei, 1 oxtongue sei, 2 rice and 1 bronebon soup. They asked type of chili among Luat, Green and Matah. We order each. I am not expert in chili but everyone agree the green chili is the fave.
Both Beef sei and Oxtongue sei are winner. The meat had big fat portion, however it was really tasty. Salty, meaty, and smoky, the meat is that good after you finished you crave for more.
The oxtongue sei was cut thin. It was salty and smoky. Texture is tender but still firm.
My advise: never order small portion unless you are full....

The Sei (meat part) is a lil bit tender and the tounge is super tender, my daughter likes the tounge but she does not approved the meat. It does not have particular flavour except salt and smoke ( I hope they do not use the artificial smoke flavour tho). What I like the most is the sauted leaves that is included when you order their sei, its tasty. But other than that the overall taste was 'okay' not that special. PS : The soup/ broth that also comes with the sei was surely had a lot of powder stock (maggie/ knorr) that is too bad, we don't want...

Waiting time for food to be delivered to your table is between 5 - 15 minutes. Sharing platter is so tasty. You can taste the smokiness, the fatty, and the juices from the meat. If you're unsure of which to choose, just order the mix platter. Rumpu Rampe is delicious too. It's not that fresh but it's more than enough to help you fulfill your daily vegetable intake. Although the restaurant serves Rumpu Rampe as a complimentary to the meat platter, customers are more than welcome to order an additional dish, for an...
