A random pick after teaching on a Saturday and ordered their beef soto betawi with additional emping on the side.
It is an old style place on the side of the road and the ambience was homey. You will find several tables and chairs for a group of 4 or 6 people, which makes this restaurant suitable for family brunch/lunch.
Portion wise, all are very generous— the rice, the meat, tomato, emping (crackers), and the pickled cucumber + green chili. You may add chili and sweet soy sauce as you wish since they put it on the table.
If you are expecting or craving to have a creamy medok soto, this is not the place. Their soto is the old-style watery soto, you can taste the spices that is refreshing, and don't be panic when they served it to you, although it looks red-ish but it is actually not spicy.
Service was okay, everyone was very warm and polite.

At 75 thousand (USD6), it's comparably pricey, but it's so good that pay you must. And don't make the same mistake I did the last time I went here, I came at around 1.30 PM to find there's no soto left. Come as early as you can. They close at 2 PM or whenever they run...
