Sushi Tengoku — Restaurant in Jakarta

I came here based on the recommendation from a Japanese friend of mine. She told me that Sushi Tengoku, which is owned by a Japanese named Osamu Morikawa, has good sushi & Sashimi with reasonable price.

Location wise, it's easy to find. It's located on Jl. Radio Dalam Raya No. F11/11A, Jakarta.

Voile, here, I am now seated on the bar still digesting the sushi that I've just eaten. I had Jyo Sushi Set Lunch for IDR200.000 that consists of 10 different nigiri sushi, 5 maki sushi, miso soup, cawan mushi, goma tofu, water melon, and a free refill of hot ocha. To be frank, this Jyo sushi Set Lunch can be actually shared for two as the sushi size is kinda generous. The taste is good as the fishes are fresh. Price wise ... reasonably economical.

Btw, I also ordered Ogura Ice Cream for dessert for only IDR 12.000. It's delish!

I love the interior by the way. It reminds me of the sushi places in Japan. It has a bar side, which is the best spot, where you can conversate with the sushi maker (chef) as well as see how they make sushi. It has also tables with chairs or at the inner part of the resto there's the area with tatami style (Japanese style).

Prior to my arrival, I checked the reviews from the internet, most of them give compliments to the food but not to the service nor staf. I find it contrary. I had a real warm conversation with all their stafs. They're super nice. They, probably, are in the good mood. Only, the cashier lady who is kinda stiff and difficult to smile. LOL.

Overall, I really enjoy being and eating here. I surely will come back to taste some more sushi & sashimi and will recommend Sushi Tengoku to my friends.

Hana maki: 8/10, starting off with the hana maki which is the one with the mayo & fish eggs on top wrapped around fresh salmon. disclaimer! i wouldn’t normally order this since the mayo would overpower the salmon and everything but this one!!! i think on the inside there is avocado which works wonderfully in the dish. it neutralized the heavy taste of the mayo and just harmonies everything together Crunchy tempura roll: 8/10, this is my friend’s order and omg. i wouldn’t order this bc tempura roll isnt at all special usually but THIS ONEE.
