I’ll never forget when we got our order for so long even to make Cap Cay they needed 2.5 hours to complete it (even I decided to buy martabak from the vendor in front of the restaurant, and the foods were not completed even after we finished the martabak). If they couldnt handle big order during rush hour, they should not provide big capacity in their restaurant might as well reduce the capacity of the restaurant. Food is average (and I could not justify 15k rupiah for a small jug of mineral water). You can also see no locals eating here, clearly targeted for western tourist. I gave this place second try after our lunch (only two other customers during our visit and foods were also slow) so clearly there were some issue with their kitchen.
Note: To reply the owners response: No indication of water can be refilled on the menu (and no information from the waiter also). Apologize if I put the wrong price of the water In the menu, the satay menu was only the Balinese Tuna satay (which I personally ordered for the dinner, it was on a menu made of a piece if paper, unlaminated). I asked the waiter for the Bali satay during lunch and she said it was not available. Surprising thing? 10 minutes later I saw someone who came later than me on the next table have this very satay (Clearly no mistranslation because I order in Indonesian) Regarding the chicken satay, well I am pretty sure if my Dutch friends have ordered 20 portion of chicken satay for dinner they will let everyone know of it I ordered Cap Cay during lunch and it came last. It was definitely not 13 minutes, even my friends was having concern why my food was not coming after they all have finished theirs Give a second try after our lunch, yeah because I did come back for the dinner even I personally have no good experience during my lunch. I did not want to have a conclusion only after one try, yet the same thing happened during dinner, and even worse.
I see you always try to respond those who gave low score to your restaurant. It’s understandable, but maybe stop accusing people, including me, of misinformation and spreading hate? Use this very detailed reviews to reflect back and improve for the future instead of fire back everytime someone left reviews with their concern. I could just leave 1 star review with no explanation, but I did not do that. Thank you and...
Read more5 stars to Waiki and its team - we went there during our first days in Karimunjawa, and the athmosphere, staff and menu charmed us.
Waiki has a selection of both Western and Indonesian food, and for our fellow overseas tourists, they wash their fresh vegetables and fruits with mineral water and baking soda. We felt safe eating salads here :)
Food is very good, my personal favourite was the popeye salad and pulau fresh fish. They do takeaway as well!
Special mention to the whole team, they are so friendly and welcoming - they helped us to arrange us boat tickets back to mainland and a car lift to yogja.
We visited Waiki multiple times during our stay (a lot) and each time staff made us feel so welcome and warm.
Its such a pleasure to visit for the super cool decoration, and lovely outside area.
Absolute gem of a cafe/restaurant in Karimunjawa I would highly...
Read moreWe ate at this cute cafè several times to try different choices in their various offer of food, we always left satisfied. They say their focus is on healthy food and they mean it! We finally enjoyed juices and smoothie Bowls without a trace of sugar, but all the menù Is tasty and well prepared. The staff Is very kind, some of them could improve their english, but it didn't bothered, we know it's a small Island and the staff is all local. Actually, bravo to the owners for giving good opportunities to locals. Icing on the cake, the Place Is beautiful, nicely arranged with personality and good vibes that made us want to chill there and come back...
