Kafi Coffee Palu — Restaurant in Kecamatan Palu Timur

This was my first time to go to to this place. honestly, I like the place because the surrounding is very quiet. It is located away from lousy road. The coffee and meals also up to standard and price is reasonable. However, I don't think I would visit this place again, due to this bad experience I encountered.

I Went there last week in the morning when the cafe had been opened for about less than an hour. I wanted to order a food and a cup of cappuccino, but the waitress told me the food weren't ready yet. I asked her when did she think they would be available, she said the other staff was currently shopping for the ingridients. This is my first time encountered a cafe, which did not prepare any ingridients in advance. ridiculous 😅.

So, I just had my coffee and told her to inform me when I could order a food.

Around a quarter to 11 am, she told me that the food were available, but there were only 2 options that I could choose from, either fried rice or chicken & rice. I asked the waitress whether the fried rice was spicy or not. Her reply was it could be made not spicy. So, I ordered that one and emphasised that I dont want it to be spicy.

I waited around 30 minutes for that dish to come. It came with a sunny side up egg. To my surprise, the kitchen staff put chili sauce on top of the egg 🤦‍♀️. I tasted the fried rice and it was still spicy.i could only eat a quarter of it because it was too spicy for me, even though it tasted delicious.

I told the waitress that the fried rice was still spicy and even the egg was dressed with chili sauce. Instead of apologising, she defended herself and said that she had informed the kitchen staff to not make it spicy. Nevertheless, she asked me if I wanted to have a glass of water.

At the end, I still paid for the full price. No discount or any attempt to offer me a new fried rice. I didn't want to bring the leftover to home because i wouldn't be able to eat it anyway. It's such a waste.

What I tried to say is this: I am disappointed with the service and lack of initiative I received from the staff despite their cozy place and good coffee. I hope the management or the owner could pay attention to a matter like this and give the staff a proper training in...

Simple, yet stylish coffee shop. Clean, minimalistic interior and exterior. Definitely instagramable if you are into that.

I like how the esspresso is prepared with the right temperature so I can drink it almost right away. Don't have to wait for minutes. No awkward server vs customer even on less busy hours

The neutral: Seat arrangement could be better. Too many tables indoors. Place is hard to reach, you definitely need google maps.

The bad: Nothing so far.

I recently visited Kafi and I must say I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The food was amazing, and the ambience was perfect for a relaxing meal with friends or family. The mix platter that Kafi offers is an absolute must-try, and what's even better is that it comes at an affordable price.

The cafe has a great selection of food and drinks, and the staff are friendly and attentive. I appreciated the attention to detail in both the presentation and taste of the food. The atmosphere of the cafe was also great, with a comfortable and welcoming feel.
