The restaurant inside the Episode Hotel in Gading Serpong. We got a free afternoon tea voucher and decided to try it out. Love the decor, it has indoor/outdoor settings that are not separated by partition. It gets warmer for the indoor tables on a hot day. Service was average, considering there were swarms of staffs milling around everywhere in the restaurant. In fact, the guests were only 3 of us and another gentleman at the outdoor table, while there were probably 15 staffs of different ranks walking around inside the restaurants. Service was prompt when we got there, we showed the waitress the voucher and she explained to us what we will get as part of the complimentary afternoon tea. This staff is gracious and very friendly. Each of us will get a free drink (any choice of tea or coffee), 3 pcs of savoury pastries and 3 pcs of sweet pastries. Onto the good part: pastries were absolutely delicious. Tables and chairs are comfortable. Great for chitchatting. The bad part: Coffee was super weak, can barely taste the coffee in my cafe latte at all. No idea what is going on, but the hordes of staff everywhere makes the place uncomfortable, they were mostly busy having a chitchat amongst themselves. The sweet pastries took 45 mins to be served and none of the staff took the initiative to ask us or tell us what is happening. Our original waitress left (guess her shift was over) and was taken over by another waitress who didn't look like she wanted to be there. When we asked if our sweet pastries are ready, she told us that they are being prepared, so just wait (this is after 30 mins of waiting). I find no faults in their food, but service can really...

I went for romantic dinner for my wedding anniversary.
FOOD First of all, don't underestimate this restaurant. Even though some of the courses are traditional, but this restaurant able to elevate it into nice presentation with modern cooking technique and a fusion of peranakan and badui!! The taste? Absolutely tasty!! Western, french or italian fine dining is too mainstream!!! If you want to feel unique experience, you must dine in this restaurant. And if you think the menu won't make you full, that is a big mistake. The full course will make your tummy satisfied. Don't get tricked by the food photos you look at this review.
AMBIENCE We booked the restaurant 1 month before, and I recommend you to do so. They prepared a private place for me. I ate at the pool, with city view. It's nice since the pool itself was closed at 6 at that time. It was very romantic and the lighting was not too bright.
SERVICE The restaurant manager Pak Adji was very considerate to us. He arranged the pool for us and a back up place in case of bad weather. He assigned one person in charge dedicated for us, his name is Fatih. He is smart and was able to explain how they created the food, which part is badui or peranakan. He even took us for a tour around the hotel and photos for us. We were treated like a king and queen!! They done a perfect job!!
PRICE Really??? With that level of service and excellent food, the price was under 1 mio for romantic dinner of 2 pax. OMG, I even think all of this worth more than 1 mio!!!
SUMMARY Perfect taste, service, price and ambience. WORTH 5...
Read moreFirst of all, tried to enquire about watching the World Cup at their restaurant as their social media stated they were showing the games. Response is so slow, we even tried to call with no answer. Their phone line was down apparently. 2 days later someone finally responds -they mentioned there's no guarantee they would show the match we wanted and it all depended on the crowd (Aus v Denmark). That was understandable - tried to make a booking for 10 people. No response again until the day of booking which I had to follow up again to confirm my booking,
Once we arrive, atmosphere was dead (only 6 tables occupied) - they were playing the other match. No one was watching however when asked to change they said they can change it at half time . Again - fair enough, we waited until half time. Once half time came, no one knew how to change the screen (they were waiting for someone else) and we missed 20 mins of the second half. What an underwhelming experience, no customer service provided from the start even if we were the biggest group of the night. Food average, taking orders also slow. Staff needs training. After the restaurant experience we decided not to stay...
