I’ve been coming here quite often since 2021, so it’s safe to say that this restaurant is one of my recommendations for an Asian Fusion restaurant.
FOOD & PRICE (4/5) The food is great, the price is reasonable. Always love the salmon here because of its freshness, even my mom, who dislikes sashimi, can enjoy the Salmon Citrus Pepper here. The Wagyu Truffle is the second of my favorites, even though it is meltique and overpriced. The best dessert is the Brownie served with Sea Salt Gelato, although the brownie is too sweet for my liking.
SERVICE & FACILITY (4/5) The restaurant currently only provides a QR code menu. On my last visit (September 17th, 2023), my family and I had trouble accessing the menu. All 3 of our phones are connected to their wifi, but none of them can view the menu. We tried to talk to the waitress but unfortunately, they said they only had the QR code menu and we had to wait for it to load. Since they have no other options, I almost feel like I don't want to dine there any longer. We finally have access to the menu after around 10-15 minutes, but I'm unsatisfied.
Suggestion: Provide a physical menu or an accessible menu tablet. Speed up service (It takes way too long for the hot tea to arrive. Even the Iced Chocolate and Golden Milk were the first to arrive.)
OVERALL Great food and atmosphere. The price is okay, perhaps will come back occasionally. On my next visit, I'm hoping there will be a physical menu or a...

A cute and comfortable cafe that provides Japanese food in Tangerang! Lebih ke donburi sih sebenarnya, they don't provide sushi/sashimi. Tempatnya super peweee🥹🫶🏻
• 100 𝙃𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙞𝙚 (58𝙠) ✨✨ THIS IS SO GOOD??! Perfect texture for a brownies!! Luarnya crispy, tapi dalemnya fudgy 🥹 andddd it’s not too sweet! Not to mention, a briliant idea to pair it with sea salt gelato. Jadinya rasanya gak manis doang, tapi ada rasa asin! Hence, gak boring 🫶🏻🫶🏻
• 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙆𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙖𝙜𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙮 𝙂𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙘 𝘼𝙞𝙤𝙡𝙞 𝙎𝙖𝙪𝙘𝙚 (75𝙠) Karaage was HUGE and generous, no kidding 😂 and it’s good, at least bukan kayak ayam goreng tepung biasa gitu. You can taste ginger (?) but tbh couldn’t really taste the garlic in the garlic aioli? Kayak mayonnaise biasa aja gt 😅 overall, ini enak and definitely a safe choice, but nothing special.
• 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙮 𝙂𝙮𝙪𝙩𝙖𝙣 𝘿𝙤𝙣 (90𝙠) Tasted good, but nothing special hmmm. Rasanya “aman” aja sih and would’ve preferred thinner slices of the gyutan ✌🏻but great idea on the runny half-boiled egg!!
📝𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 & 𝙎𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙉𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙨 What blew my mind was their dessert 🥹 the main courses were good, but they didn’t stand out that much. Alsooo, you can upgrade your ricebowl with a drink, a karaage for side dish, and a bowl of miso soup with only adding 40k/ricebowl. I’d say it’s a pretty good deal although still quite pricey in the...
Read moreMonokuro is an artisan restaurant that mostly serves Japanese fusion foods, from appetizers and rice bowls to side dishes, desserts, also alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The place consists of two floors. It's not that big, I could say that this is a compact and crowded restaurant especially during the weekend.
When we came here on Sunday to have a lunch, the first floor was full already, so that we dine in on the second floor where there's an open kitchen there.
Let's see what we tried!
Smoked Duck Oh, this is so good! The tender smoked duck with wasabi and yuzu soy sauce is unique yet tasty! Recommended!
Sashimi Don A wide bowl of white rice with sliced salmon sashimi marinated in zuke sauce, tobiko, nori, egg yolk, and salad. The sashimi is fresh and overall, this one is also good and recommended!
Midori An artisan dessert consisting of matcha mousse, yuzu gel, almond sponge, and matcha sable, coated in a matcha-pistachio coating. A good dessert with a combination of less sweet, slightly sour, and fresh flavors.
Overall, the foods in Monokuro taste good. Recommended artisan restaurant in Gading...
