Bejana — Restaurant in Kuta Selatan

Let me start by saying the service was impeccable. I wish I caught the names of those who serviced our table.

We came in and were immediately seated and given table-side sambal preparation that are complimentary. There were 3 sambals prepared and served with different chips. A fantastic start. We then ordered basic drinks and got some great recommendations. My husband loved the drinks.

I didn’t get a picture of the Rendang before we put it on our plates - but you can see the after! We ordered rendang and all the mains come with a fresh serving of rice which the staff there come to the table and offer 3 options of rice which you can mix and match and get as much as you’d like. Wow! The yellow turmeric rice was delicious.

We also got the Mie Goreng with fried chicken, satay, and seafood. Also very delicious! Served very hot and with amazing pairings of spicy sambal and pickles as well as more rice chips.

Lastly we ordered the dessert bites which came with black rice ice cream, mango puff, and a coconut pandan jelly. WOWWWW. WOW. Unreal. It was a perfect end. I’m utterly shocked at the low ratings. We would 100% go back! The staff alone deserves the most. They...

Really long 50+ mins wait for food. They are conveniently located near Uluwatu temple but the wait was insane. You could see all the impatient faces. Food is really hit or miss.

Salmon steak - good and soft Tenderloin steak- good and well cooked veg Fish tacos, - ok but not great Nasi Goreng sultan- So Bad. Really bad. Rice tasted like it was mashed with ketchup, tasteless and bland, keropok was stale. Whole dish was terrible.

Out of all the restaurants at Ritz Carlton that we went to during our stay, Bejana was the only one with consistent quality food, service and ambience. We went two nights just to make sure and both nights all the staff made us feel welcome and made really good recommendations to order and the food was tasty, hot and on time.
