Java Coffee & Eatery — Restaurant in Malang

Not all cafe are created equal, some only depend on cheap frozen food and overly sweet watery drinks; but only few serve freshly made food - or although using (high quality) frozen food but with a touch of fresh real food ingredients. Java coffee & eatery is the later.

The signature sampler consist of potato wedges (i don't think it's frozen potato fries, it's so guwwwddd), onion rings, fried dimsum, nugget & sausage and chilli sauce: 8/10

The pancake is fluffy, not too thick and cotton candy like japanese souffle, but definitely softer & fluffier than American pancake (i guess they whisk the egg whites separately). Topped with vanilla ice cream & fresh strawberries & grapes, perfect for kids (psst, they also have 2 baby chairs for you who bring toddler), just wished they cook the pancake 15-20 second more til it's golden: 8,5/10

The most surprising menu is - of course - the chicken cordon bleu. First time I saw the menu book, it does look small just like risol mayo and thought that 38K is quite pricey. But after the food came, it's a SUPER BIG smoked beef and mozzarella filled chicken breast, coated in bread crumbs. That thick chicken breast is perfectly cooked & seasoned, it's juicy and soft and delicious. Pair with sauted veggies that taste buttery with parsley (?), Soooo guwd til I don't think you need that bbq sauce. 38K is too cheap for this menu because it is actually adequate for 2 people: 9,5/10

The pempek is also good, the texture is soft & chewy, the noodle and diced cucumber is a plus plus: 8,5/10

For the drink. Most cafe serve drinks that only good in the first sip, but after the ice melts, that drink will turn into bland water. But java coffee and eatery is different. After the ice melts, the taste is still linger there.

For surprising taste, try coffee with mix berries, first timer to taste this, but the bitter mix the sweet and tangy berries perfectly 9/10 The caramel macchiato is like elevated version of p**s coffee, the caramel and bitterness is bold 8,5/10 The iced chocolate is rich, chocolaty and not to sweet for adults but not too bitter for kids (i came with 4, 6, 11 yo children) 8,5/10 The capuccino (using Flores arabica coffee) is so good, there's a hint of nuttiness 9/10

The staffs are so kind, it's clean and spacious, the toilet & praying room are also clean 👍

Save the best for the last ini bisa di implementasikan ke Java Coffee and Eatery ini sih. Kafe di pojokan akhir jalanan sudimoro (belakang) ini udah parkirannya luas, terus intriguing. Jadi kan mostly di daerah sudimoro ini ya kopi kopi aja dan kadang ga gitu merhatiin rasa dari makanan ya karena balik lagi mereka kebanyakan jualan kopinya. Tapi tidak dengan Java yang satu ini. Awal awal pasti bakal agak kaget sama harganya karena bisa dibilang cukup pricey untuk area sudimoro ya. Tapi pas pesenannya dateng itu porsinya ga main main sih. Sepiring berdua biar romantis juga bisa. For starters kopinya sendiri enak. Bukan yang enak ala ala gitu tapi beneran enak. Terus sharing snacksnya ok banget. Pempeknya juara karena rasanya otentik. Buat menu menunya juga oke oke semua. Dari asian sampai yang njlimet kayak grill chicken itu gaada yang gaenak. Mungkin yang bisa ditambah dari menu kayaknya di bagian desserts/ yang manis manis deh. Karena diliat di menu kebanyakan based nya pisang. Kerennya lagi java coffee and eatery ini punya musholanya sendiri jadi gaperlu jauh jauh nyari mushola/ masjid (sekalipun deket kafenya ada ya) terus musholanya juga well-maintenance sama fasilitasnya udah lengkap buat sholat. Terus ada working spacenya sendiri 🥹 ber AC, terus infonya kalau mau reservasi dan request kayak proyektor, sound, mic gitu gitu bisa dong. Sama ini tadi paling baru ada promo mereka kalau up di story sambil tag java + review mereka di google otomatis dapet diskon 10% gituu. Will be back for sure because this place is a hundred percent...

Menu bervariasi, harga dan porsinya pas. Bukanya pagi, jadi bisa breakfast juga disini.

Menu yg saya&keluarga pesan dan saya coba: Cordon bleu = porsi nya gede. Keju dan smoked beef nya melimpah. Dipadukan dgn saus nya jadi oke bgt, tapi kurang suka dgn tekstur sausnya karena kental sekali. Overall, tasty. 9/10 Caesar salad = My fav menu so far. Sayurnya segar, potongan ayamnya lembut. The best pokonya. 10/10 Kwetiauw = Pertama dateng porsinya terlihat sedikit tp trnyata setelah dimakan, baru sadar itu melebihi porsi saya biasanya. Ga terlalu berminyak, rasa pas. Saya pesen pedas tp menurut saya tdk pedas hehehe. 8/10 Pancake = siapa yg bisa nolak pancake hangat dikasih es krim dan strawberry? Manis asam gurih nya dapat. 8,5/10 Platter = Isinya lumayan banyak. Ada money bag, potato wedges, sosis. Pas utk dimakan rame". 8,5/10 Fettucine carbonara = Ga eneg, enak. Toping jamur dan smoked beef nya melimpah. 9/10 Hazelnut milkshake = Hazelnut nya kurang kerasa, lebih kerasa sprti susu vanilla manis hehe. 6,5/10 Red velvet latte = Porsi pas, enak, tidak terlalu manis dan bentuknya cantik. 8,5/10

Kata ownernya, the best beverage mereka adalah Java signature coffee tapi saya belum sempat coba. Utk kunjungan berikutnya pasti akan coba.
