As seen on me previous reviews I don't like leaving negative reviews. I was CHEATED here and very much conned. I'm a seasoned traveller, so not through misunderstanding. I asked for the price first at the pork stand. Once the bill came they put 100% on for service charge. Two nice indonesian lads spoke to me while we was eating. We all had the same dish. Same drink. Them two together was 45000. Me alone 50000. The portion size was also smaller. I thought ide try somewhere else in there not to think they all are the same there. I then ordered chicken noodles for 30000 (cheap) from another stall. When It came, no chicken.. I complained and they said its a extra 30000 for the chicken. I spoke to a nice indonesian local guy and he told me they cheat the portions and double x3. The prices for tourists. I don't mind paying a little extra if it's good food but they just cheat with the dishes and charge more. Very bad quality of food. No or very small amount of meat. Tried two different stalls. Both cheated.
Dogs are a problem here. Everyone knows bali dogs. But here they are fighting alot and showing teeth alot. Alot of the stalls hitting them with...
Read more🌙 A Flavorful Night at Nusa Penida’s Night Market! 🍢🍫 If you’re on Nusa Penida and craving authentic local eats, the night market is an absolute must. It’s full of life, smoky grills, sizzling street food, and the delicious scent of spices in the air. I tried a few different things, but three stood out:
🔥 Sate Taichan – Spicy, tangy, and grilled to perfection. It’s a simple satay without the usual peanut sauce, but packed with flavor thanks to the chili and lime. 🐐 Sate Kambing – So tender and juicy, with that rich, smoky taste only good goat satay has. It was one of the best I’ve had in Indonesia. 🍰 Terang Bulan – The perfect sweet ending. This thick, fluffy Indonesian pancake was stuffed with chocolate and oreo, crispy on the edges, gooey in the middle. Pure comfort food.
The vibe was friendly, local, and super budget-friendly. Whether you’re a foodie or just hungry after a long day of exploring, the night market in Nusa Penida is a can’t-miss experience.
Big Bonus: enough parking space...
Read moreAvoid if you are a tourist. Very hostile attitude there. First satay ayam stall I went to the guy asked me if I wanted some, I nodded and replied yes please. Waiting for a while during which time he was serving other locals, I turned round to see where my order was and the guy was just sitting down looking at me. Annoyed, I went to another one advertising sate ayam, the man cooking the food asked if I wanted some, I said yes and asked how much and he said 10,000. The lady who runs the stall started shouting at him then started shouting at me angrily “hello, hello, you want sate, you pay 20,000”, so basically doubled the price because I’m not a local. If they had told me that price from the start, I wouldn’t know any better but these people here clearly don’t like tourists and feel like we should pay twice as much as locals. I just left and got my sate fix from a roadside stall...
