The Social Brasserie — Restaurant in Pekanbaru

This is my third time coming here. This cafe is quite famous among Pekanbaru's people.

The concept of a cafe bar with affordable prices. The place is next to the hotel lobby. not too spacious and cozy, room lighting is good for taking some good angled photos. There are clean and spacious toilets. For prayer rooms, it might be more like hotel facilities. Access for disabilities is very easy, it's just a little narrow. Parking join the hotel parking. With visitors who are still busy, there is often a waiting list. So you must reservation first.

For service, responsive and quite friendly. but I rarely saw the waiters smiling.

As for the food, I've tried almost all of the food. Starting from the main meal, there are Buntut Soup and Buntut Bakar (note: very tasty), Nasi Goreng Kecombrang (note: the chicken topping is bland), Signature Social Brasserie Steak with Bbq Sauce Medium Rare (note: perfect!), Australian Striploin Steak with Bbq Sauce Medium Rare (note: the meat is tough), Saikoro Beef Sambal Matah (note: soft meat, I don't like the sambal matah), Chicken Spaghetti Sambal Matah (note: too oily and doesn't taste good with the sambal matah). Social Brasserie Burger (note: good!), Beef Nachos Tomato Salsa (note: so-so!), Homecut Truffle Fries (note: so-so!). Then for dessert, there are Pandan Pannacota (note: good!), Ovamaltine Souffle Pancake (note: good!), Thai Tea Crepes (note: powerfect!). The drinks are Lemon tea, Charcoal rich, Lychee tea, Peach tea, Chammomile tea (note: I think, the taste is the same as in general).

In my opinion, this cafe cannot be used as a working place because it's too noisy, only for hanging out with friends and family. I don't think we can sit too long and i don't know if there is wifi or not. But its okay, this can be an option for you to hangout with the people...

Love the atmoshpere, the food is good, the beverages is ok, mine is hot honey ginger lemon served warm in rock glass. Yep, rock glass ☺️, i dont know if it is the standard there, but shouldnt be hot beverages served in cup with handle and it should be hot not warm. The food take quite long to arrived, for the appetizer it takes about 25 minutes after order has been taken. And that was after i asked about it. Its a salad and 1 more appetizer for my wife (forgot the name) After that the main dish come before we finished the appetizer, since its table for two, beside the pillar in front of the bar, i guess the waitress/waiter need to know that it will be cramp if the stuff in the main dish as well. Thats make me quite upset but then the waiter saw me and asked, do i want to have the main dish later? I said yes please. Please train more the staff for order taking and sequence of order to put up your reputations, normal folks will be fine maybe, but for someone who knows a bit of food and beverages it will be quite bad experiences. Then come our dessert at last, we asked for help to take for both of our photo for our anniversary from the waitress. Thank you to her. But then i wanna order a cocktail, i ask a waiter but out of 3 drink i ask from the list he cant answer it, he need to asked the bartender. I am sorry but the product knowlegede of the staff is quite poor. That is make my night so bad again after i just recover from my drink, appetizer and main dish. One more, a new cafe comes in Pekanbaru. It has a nice view. The prices are medium and for those who like liquor, you can have them here, too. (When I asked to one of the staff, you even can have it during the day). I like to find out the history of the cafe’s name. Unfortunately, the staff doesn’t really know it. I think the meaning of the cafe’s name should be one of the topics of training that staff should have it. So when I asked to one of the staff, he just answered literally from the words. He explained that The social means it’s a place for people to social, while the brassiere meaning couldn’t be explained by him. The food that I ordered was spaghetti Aglio Olio. Well, for me the meat wasn’t cooked in the middle, but the taste of the spaghetti is quite good. The coffee is fine. I ordered another food but I forgot the name. The taste is nice. The waiter who served us, because I went there with my friend, is friendly and helpful. However, I didn’t get it with the staff who welcomed us. She didn’t smile or show friendly face.
