Well, wrong show for us. Was expecting to see the "Bali Agung Show" that i've discovered later, so a bit off there ^^ Here, the show was more like some boring disney / little-mermaid scenario, clearly targeted for a young audience with a lot to improve. Sound was terrible, lot of echoes. Some of the background projections were pretty basic and blur (the moon...), putting the whole stage mood quite off. Stage was looking too empty most of the time with not much going on. The difference between the background and the main stage was often too harsh, not elaborated/merged enough.
Hopefully the pre-show singer & musicians - for whom it was totally inconsistent with the show himself, not sure about the artistic continuity choice here, looks like they bring them here from somewhere else to elevate the whole thing - elevate the level, as for the main actor and most of the team/dancers and acting. You can perceive a real will to do good. Mostly a lack of magical and immersion here and there. I will said, there was some nice ideas, the waves act, the boss fight act was pretty good, last act with the singing pretty fair, ... ! I would have wish the whole show at the same level, even during the necessary chillest acts. There is a lot to do with the "underwater" thematic for the stage.
Most of the staff in the place & show was pretty cool and smiling, can't say anything about that.
Food was on the quite expensive...
Read moreI went with my missus to Varuna for her birthday, book the premium package. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed just about everything about the whole experience. The staff had a wonderful birthday surprise for my missus, the food was delicious and the show great. If I would not book premium but only the regular, I am not sure if I would rate that positive. The first 45 is just an acoustic combo on the stage, which is nice when you have the dining-experience there, but otherwise you just watch other people eat.
The Varuna Show itself is something like just under an hour and very entertaining. I would have wished for the aquarium to be included more, but it is still impressive.
I would have some more critics about what is included in the ticket-price, but that would not be Varuna related.
The PR department of Varuna needs to step up their game a little. We could not book in Kuta at any agent we asked and many people (tourists) we talked about the show didn’t even know it existed. .. ...and we were in a hotel, with guests middle and upper age, who can afford it, they were stunned by the pictures we showed them, and asked how to book.
We made a small video of our visit at Varuna, which gives a better impression than just...
Read moreWe had an extremely disappointing experience with the Varuna show due to the seat placement. Despite purchasing the deluxe package, we were assigned side seats with a view almost entirely obstructed by a large mermaid sculpture. This completely ruined the experience, as we couldn’t see the performance at all and even ended up falling asleep out of boredom.
We later realized there was a large aquarium at the back of the stage with a mermaid performer swimming inside the tank—something we completely missed due to our obstructed view.
As we entered the hall early before the show began, we requested a seat change but were informed that seating was pre-assigned and could not be adjusted.
I strongly urge the management to address this issue seriously. It’s incredibly frustrating to invest time and money in what should have been an amazing experience, only to leave feeling disappointed. No customer should have to endure such...
