Earlier today was my first time trying Sushi Matsu, and overall, the taste really suited both me and my wife. I arrived around just before noon, and the place wasn’t crowded yet. The atmosphere was comfortable, and the service was excellent—even the chef gave us complimentary soup! Here’s my honest review of the menu I tried today:
Must-try menu: Salmon Belly Teriyaki Aburi – Rating: 9/10⭐️ The salmon was incredibly thick and melted in my mouth. It was rich in flavor yet perfectly balanced. Cuka Idako Gunkan – Rating: 8.7/10⭐️ You wouldn’t expect such bold flavors from a sushi place in a shop lot. The taste was intense, and the texture really highlighted how fresh the octopus was.
Other recommended dishes: Crunchy Salmon – Rating: 8.5/10⭐️ The sweetness and saltiness were perfectly balanced. The texture was delightful, with soft avocado complementing the crunchy exterior. Hokkaido – Rating: 8.5/10⭐️ Salmon on the outside with egg on the inside, incredibly soft and practically melts in your mouth. Miso Sakana – Rating: 8.3/10⭐️ The miso flavor was very rich, with a thick broth and an abundance of fish.
All the dishes were served with generous portions of protein and just the right amount of rice. You definitely won’t feel shortchanged, and all the menu items are very affordable. I ordered six dishes, and it only cost...
Read moreWent here with family, two adults and three kids. The resto not far from our home. When we came, the rain poured hard.
Based on my wife opinion, the menus quite vary for small japanese resto around. We ordered some foods, such us spicy crunchy tempura, volcanoes, ebi tempura, a bowl of uden and ramen. They were tasted good, but a little bit pricey, but maybe that what Japanese resto average prices. For four of us, we paid more that Rp400 thousands.
When we came here, several customers also dine in. The resto have policy for an hour dine in after the food delivered. So we got hurry :)
When we had finished to ate and paid the bill, the rain still not stopped outside. Our car parked around ten meters from the resto. No help from the waiters for umbrella or something, but maybe because they short of staff or busy with the others.
Got to visit other Japanese resto like this, there is one not far from this resto, at the same block at theirs.
The parking charge quite expensive, so, they right not too long eating there, at least you will be charge Rp8k for more than an hour park 😃 almost forget, do not worry for parking lot, they are many of them.
Eventhough they a little bit pricey, and their hospitality not so great, i still gave them full stars, just because their foods. I reall enjoyed them...
Read moreIt was okay. Price to ratio is average. Sashimi nami was good, freshness was good, temperature serving was excellent. Cha soba was slightly weird, they put ice and the soba in a bowl which ended up making the melted ice soaks the soba, instead of putting them on a seeping tray. Tempura was amazing... I'd say the best among the foods we tried, 10/10! Volcano was slightly weird as well, very oily, the size was for 2 bites, but the nori was really hard to cut through, making 2 bites very messy and made me use fingers to cut it. Overall, I've tasted better sushi around, but in bsd area, this is probably in top 5. Service was poor, no smile, no nice things said, lack of proper tone, no warmth whatsoever. Oh, and the server screamed loudly right after i asked for sashimi nami, she asked the cook if the maguro was available, in a loud and disrespectful tone..... Place was very cozy, lighting and temperature was great. Ambience was warm (minus the server) and cozy. Great place overall, except for the manner of the server which made me think twice of coming back or recommending...
