I recently dined at Republic Seafood Resto in Sorong, and it was a delightful experience overall. A very recommended place to get a fresh & tasty seafood in Sorong! Price wise is not that expensive, even cheaper compare to the other same restaurants around.

We tried grilled tuna and it was very superb! The next day we ordered a small size of seafood platter with only cost IDR 225K with lots of small clamps, shrimps, squids, and two big crabs! The platter wi be suitable for 3-4 persons! So, it was well worth it - the money & the taste! Don't forget to order the fried kangkung / water spinach. It is crunchy & tasty. You get a small amount of kangkung if you order the tuna. Too bad that they don't provide another types of veggies.

But be ready for the very longgg queue, even in the weekdays & mostly in the weekend! This place is so popular among local & tourists. We thought that they need to review their system in ordering & paying the menu. Only 1 or 2 person (i think the owner of the restaurant) take the order & payment and it contributes to the long queue.

We where there for dinner . Great seafood from the grill . We ordered the tuna jaw jumbo , a whole red snapper , black tiger shrimps and a squid . Everything was perfect grilled and very tasty . The Restaurant was packed , what is a good sign when you want to eat fresh seafood . Also all the different sambals who came with the food where very tasty and good home made products . Specially a big thank you to the owner , she was very very very helpful and explained everything very nice and spend quite a while with us , but we never felt that it was to much for her . No She did it with a smile and full of enthusiasm . And because I used to own a Michelin Restaurant I had a few 🫣 questions , wanted to see the fish etc . Was one more a great experience of dining .
