Pawon Mbah Gito is a unique dining spot that captures the essence of traditional Javanese culture. Nestled in a rustic, antique setting, this restaurant combines the charm of an old Javanese village with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. From the decor to the traditional music softly playing in the background, everything here feels authentic and thoughtfully arranged, offering guests a memorable cultural experience along with their meal.

I tried the bakmie, and I found it quite enjoyable. The noodles were well-cooked with a nice, slightly chewy texture, and the seasoning was balanced, bringing out a rich, savory flavor. It had just the right amount of sweetness, which is common in Javanese cuisine, and the ingredients tasted fresh and well-prepared. While it might not be the best bakmie I’ve ever had, it was definitely satisfying, and I could appreciate the home-cooked feel that the dish offered.

The service at Pawon Mbah Gito was also warm and attentive, adding to the pleasant experience. The staff members seemed genuinely friendly and were happy to share recommendations or explain the menu items. This level of hospitality made the meal feel even more special, and it’s clear that they are dedicated to maintaining the restaurant’s cultural atmosphere while ensuring customers are comfortable.

Overall, Pawon Mbah Gito is a place I would recommend for anyone looking to experience traditional Javanese food in a charming, heritage-rich setting. It may not be the most refined bakmie in town, but the ambiance and authenticity of the restaurant make it...

Pawon Mbah Gito is a hidden gem that perfectly combines aesthetic charm with delicious traditional cuisine. Seru banget si makan di situ.. My best tip is .. avoid coming around 12 noon to 1.30 pm .. they were packed .. and hard to get or choose a table that you like as well, long queue for the food stall

They serve hybrid all you can take and individual item : For vegie : all you can take + rice (1 kali ambil) = Rp. 14K (max 2/3 veggies) Other than that, it is counted as individual items.

The food is simple and delicious! A home cooking style and taste. šŸ’“ it!

The place is just like a home with a lot of terrace areas and a bit of padi field .. woods furniture, outdoors no aircon .. village vibe .. I wish the place could be much cleaner.. and cooler ..

Even though it is a village style, they staff use handy talky to communicate to each other, so they are quite fast to assist our needs.

Uniquely, they also serve some modern pastries .. šŸ° šŸ˜€..

Certainly will return! And will try...

Generally speaking, food is delicious and fresh. It would help a bit if the buffet is provided with the names of the dishes. The atmosphere is that of a serene village hall, with vintage furniture to go with it. Some of the chairs & tables are a bit short for me, but I'm taller than most Indonesians so that's still OK. One that bothers me a bit is the toilet near the front terrace. It's actually adequate except for the annoying fact that there's no disposal basket for the men's room, and because of that I saw used toilet papers stacked above the paper-roll. Just a little thing but it's quite a big turn-off in otherwise a beautiful place to eat. Fortunately, the other toilets are still OK. I would've given five stars if that particular toilet was better. A little piece of advice for those who want to dine in during weekends, make an advance reservation first.

I was honestly about to rate the place 3 stars about a misunderstanding about price. I thought I paid 792k, which was clearly a rip off. My bad, it's just 192k .I realized it when incjecked my bill after I arrived home. That's a sweet spot for a meal with 3 people. The concept is simple : it's a buffet with traditional Javanese food that they keep fresh all day long. They offer for example 2 types of rice, brown and white which is extremely rare 8n Indonesia. So you take your plate and cutlery, and you choose your food. Simple concept, with a limited number of options (20 or 25 choices) but largely enough. There is an extra counter for coffee drinks and desserts. The restaurant, made of several traditional buildings, joglo type, with vintage furniture , is simple, like the food, but everything matches. A good place to visit, enjoyable food, reasonable price.
