118th Coffee — Restaurant in Surabaya

Apparently it’s called 118th Coffee because of their address (house number 118). Had a hard time finding this place because I expected the building would have “118 Coffee” on it. On the contrary, their name plate is “One Eighteenth Coffee”. I think this is one inconvenient inconsistency. (You might consider changing your name on google map, dear owner).

However the foods are affordable. Average price is 25k-ish. I ordered oreo waffle, fettuccini carbonara, iced lychee tea, and caramel blend. The waffle is okay with generous topping of vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, and oreo. The fettuccini has generous portion, but too salty for my taste. Caramel blend just a little bit too sweet. Maybe consider having a separated sugar syrup?

I'm usually quite lenient on scoring coffee shops, but this one is lacklustre on a couple of departments. It served one of the worst waffles i've ever tasted thanks to its overly cooked exterior and incongruent emphasis on chocolate taste. The coffee was exorbitantly priced despite its average quality. This is a coffee shop that could also used as a "coworking space" for their main clientele, the university students. Place is cozy and got serviceable coffee/shakes, but their dessert is not worth your money at all. I ordered a "cake of the day" and what I got is a hard as stone pie with questionable filling that kept me wondering "what the h*ck did I just eat". Just order a cup and do not consider anything from their dessert menu. Parking space is very limited...
