Gardenia Country Inn - Restaurant — Restaurant in Tomohon

The view is great, but the restaurant service is not so good, at the beginning they give us the menu like photo I send, and say the lunch package is settled(all you can eat) can't be changed,(can not order another ). So we wait for 40 mins and the meals didn't come, except the drinks. And then I ask for to refill my hot tea, But the waiter say "actually it can not refill" In the same time, we just saw the other tables have other food (didn't on the menu) So we confused, why is there has another dishes? And its says the lunch package is all you can eat, but can't refill the hot tea??

So we ask the waiter why the others have another dishes can order? And the waiter say "because they are local people, and the mandarins have another menu "

I live in Indonesia for 5 years, and travel to many places in here, this is the first Hotel restaurant witch have different types menu for locals and mandarins!

The garden is absolutely fantastic. I really really enjoyed wondering around and seeing such a varied garden. At times it reminded me of being in an English garden in the summer. We were told our food coule be an hour wait as it was busy and we had not ordered ahead. But thankfully it was much quicker. We tried the "home steak" and some spring rolls. The spring rolls were fried, yet not crispy. They were however, very delicious. The home steak came with some really delicious vegetables and was two (slightly undersalted) beef burger patties in what I had initially thought was gravy. I was wrong. The closest thing I can think it resembled was BBQ sauce as it was sweet and a little tangy. But it was also a bit chocolatey. the atmosphere is peaceful since we came at not-busy-hour and the view is beautiful. Although the meals are not quite the expectations.

we ordered 'Spaghetti Seafood' and was expecting an aglio olio but we got a spaghetti with Bolognese sauce and some chunk of ebi-s and squid

the bakwan was okay, but the steak was a disappoinment. the steak turned out to be 2 beef patties with a questionable sauce, almost like the sauce you would taste when you're eating babi kecap😅 it was quite the sweet one for a steak sauce. it was uneatable.

we also ordered sate babi which relatively salty but i might say, still eatable.

the food serving took quite some time.
