SHSD Ciganea Purwakarta Restaurant has a unique concept, namely traditional and Sundanese. So it's no wonder this restaurant is always full of visitors, especially on Saturdays, Sundays or Holidays.
At the front it doesn't look special because the front is opened only for parking. While the rest go inside so that the restaurant interface is not visible to the public.
On the left there are several ornaments such as wagon wheels, ancient windows with very distinctive colors. If you don't have many vehicles, this location is perfect for photos because it's very instagramable.
After entering the new visitors will feel the feel of the countryside. This can be seen from several buildings called "Leuit" or rice barns.
There are several main buildings for dining visitors with a distinctive architecture made of wood, including tables and chairs made of wood.
Interestingly, there are some unusual ornaments in one of the buildings, such as old pictures or advertisements made of zinc. There are also old suitcases as decorations, radios, old cupboards too.
Around the dining area there are several ponds filled with fish, and there is a fountain with a gurgling sound that adds to the rural atmosphere.
While on the dining table there is a special place for spoons and forks. Likewise, the teapot for the tea is still made from a very legendary can, which adds to the uniqueness of the old village atmosphere of this restaurant.
We were offered various SHSD specialties, but we chose the Sweet and Sour Fried Gurame Fish, Maranggi Satay, Fried Peda Fish, and stir-fried kale. But we were given a choice of menus that we only paid for when eaten, such as wet fried chicken, jengkol stew, lung, tempeh and fried tofu.
The sudden chili sauce served to visitors is hejo chili sauce, it tastes really good. Very suitable when combined with wet fried chicken, or fish peda, and grilled fish makes the appetite doubled.
Come visit and feel the sensation of the chili sauce. SHSD, So warm, so close, really...
Read moreThese are one of my favorite Sundanese resto, which is provide "lesehan" place to eat, spacious place with spacious paeking lot as well, the foods were so good. The main menu of this resto is Ayam Goreng Basah, which is Ayam goreng but it fried for a second, so it's not dry texture but still has spices taste, light taste and not worry to high cholesterol of much oil on it. The red and green sambal were the best as well.
When you come to this resto for the first time, I might say this resto is such Padang resto that hasn't book menu. You come, sit, then the waiters will ask what's your order? You just ask for Nasi Putih or Nasi Liwet, bc the "Ayam goreng" will served directly without asking, in a plate, 15 cuts of small pieces Ayam Kampung with its "jeroan". The other plates will also directly served, like a stacks of different kinds of side dishes: 5pcs Jengkol balado, 1pc Gepuk, 2pcs each of Tahu and Tempe goreng, amounts of fresh Lalapan and Karedok. The system like when you eat in Padang resto, you pick one of the plate served, then it will count later and pay as you pick. There's also other menu you can ask (without a book menu of course), but I can recommend you to try Sate Sapi Maranggi in a hotplate. A bit different with Maranggi in common, at this resto it's just served in Kecap Bawang sauce, no chilli (but I guess you can ask for adding...
Read moreGreat place to enjoy time with family and friends. Very unique and interesting style of restaurant. Classic, Vintage, and traditional style of Restaurant. This place had so many antique items. Great place to take pictures for Instagram or other social media. First time I came here, my first impression was not really satisfied, it's started because of the server didn't gave us the menu, so we didn't know what kind of foods they serve here. The server just explained some items that they have. I tried to asked again for the menu, but the server said that most of the items are not available. Quite disappointed in the beginning. I don't know if we came in the wrong time when most of the items sold out already. We came there around 18.30. This place had a special menu called "sambal hejo" "sambal dadakan", so the main thing from this place is the "sambal". I can say that I can find much more better taste for the sambal in other places. It's not what we expect about the taste of the Sambal. But the chicken was perfect, two thumbs. And for other dishes just fairly. The Tea was excellent, warm enough, great taste and flavour, and very interesting presentation with old and classic metal tea pot. I know everyone have different opinions about taste of the foods, but so far this is my experience about the taste of the foods...
