New Warung Amalia — Restaurant in West Nusa Tenggara

A very simple eating place in the owner's house garden in the middle of small alleys and cul-de-sac. The simple grilled seafood is fresh and delicious. The service is homey and down to earth: they can give you anything you want if they have it. The value for money is really good as the quality of food is comparable to restaurants. We’re staying at Coconut Boutique Lombok. Our guide is the cook’s brother so he asked us if we wanted to go there to eat. It’s a special warung, located in their house. A Senggigi puoi mangiare in mille posti differenti, ma è solo da New Warung Amalia che puoi vivere un'esperienza unica grazie al titolare Nuvola e alla sua splendida famiglia.

Noi abbiamo mangiato due piatti di patatine, due piatti di melanzane fritte, un chilo di gamberi, il pollo ruspante e un dentice il tutto rigorosamente alla griglia.

Sono arrivato a questo warung grazie alle recensioni di Google, altrimenti è praticamente impossibile conoscerne l'esistenza (qualche guida parla di lui).

Io ho fatto prenotare direttamente dalla nostra guida e, sorpresa, Nuvola parla italiano. Altra cosa graditissima è che ci è venuto a prendere in auto e, a fine cena, ci ha riaccompagnato. Praticamente un servizio a 5 stelle.

Ambiente decoroso, semplice e informale e, proprio per questo, vero e genuino.

Per tutto quanto sopra elencato (+4 lattine di Coca Cola) abbiamo speso 690.000 rupie indonesiane (al cambio attuale poco meno di € 50,00 in totale).

Che dire? I nostri amici sono partiti, ma noi domani sera ci torniamo per fare una scorpacciata di gamberi (1 chilo a testa).
