I recently dined at Ocean Blue Seafood in Senggigi—what an epic experience! The seafood was simply fantastic, unlike anything I’ve tasted before. The moment you step in, the vibe is raw and unpretentious—but make no mistake, this place delivers in the boldest way possible.

The standout feature? Guests choose their own fish directly from aquariums and ponds, and the chef brings it to life right before your eyes. It’s not just a meal—it’s interactive theater, and you’re fully in the show. The freshness of the seafood shines through every bite, with cooking styles ranging from steamed and fried to aromatic kam heong or peppery, all executed with amazing flavor  .

The ambiance is simple—almost Spartan—but it adds to the charm, grounding you in authenticity. It’s exactly that unpolished setting that lets the food take center stage. The food was sooo good and so fresh. You can choose your seafood from the tanks and select your cooking preference. The chef is equipped to cook a variety of styles (steamed, fried, kam Heong, black pepper, spicy etc) and everything tasted delicious and not too salty.

For 4 adults and 2 kids; we couldn’t finish our order of garlic scallops, HK style steamed fish, steamed crabs, fried mantis shrimps (these were huge!), seaweed soup and Kang kung, rice and beer. The meal costed us approx ~IDR2 million.

We also had a nice conversation with the owner & chef (who are an uncle & nephew duo).

We highly recommend this place but a pity that we didn’t take any photo...

The food was quite good but what made our dinner so special was the very kind staff of the restaurants who gave us so many recommendations and who explained us everything. We were even able to have a cute spontaneous candle light dinner outside of the restaurant at the beach.

Unfortunately the Chinese chef or possibly owner of the restaurant shared a very unpleasant vibe because he was constantly shouting at the staff, not greeting guests and generally spreading a very...
