Warung Mardiana — Restaurant in West Nusa Tenggara

We went for dinner to Mardiana and it was really delicious, so we asked her if we can do a little cooking class with her the next evening. We learnt how to cook jackfruit curry (which we recommend a lot!) & satay chicken and it was a very nice experience. She was nervous at the beginning because she tought her kitchen is too small, but honestly you can't get a more authentic experience than this! If you wanna experience the authentic, beautiful Lombok, go see Mardiana! She also accompanied us to the local maket in Sangjang and helped us buy good fruit, spices and sweets. A cute little warung with delicious food at fair prices. Everything was cooked by one woman who ran the whole place by herself - so impressive! Guests write down their own orders, and everything is freshly prepared afterward. The mango juice was a 10/10! The Gado-Gado and Satay were also super tasty and fresh. The only thing we didn’t enjoy as much was the fried chicken - the portion was smaller compared to the other dishes, and the chicken was a bit dry. Overall, definitely...

This place is amazing. Mardiana is sooooo nice and sweet. We went there everyday while we stayed in Tetebatu, it's sooooo good (we had the ola-ola, urap-urap, vegetable curry, tofu curry, noodle soup and everything was so delicious).

She is very generous as well and we hope she can develop or make cooking classes some day because it was truly amazing food (and amazing human as well). It's all fresh - as often in Indonesia - and so cheap, you would want to go...
