I’m giving 2 stars mainly because of the bad service we received from the captain responsible for our section (first floor, right side). While he wasn’t directly rude, his attitude was dismissive and made us feel rushed.
As soon as we sat down, he handed us the menus, and just two minutes later, he started pushing us to place an order. I politely asked for more time to go through the menu, and he said “okay” but came back again within a couple of minutes. I had to ask again for more time.
When we were finally ready to order, we wanted eastern dishes like biryani and parda plau. He told us that none of the eastern options were available at the moment. We found that strange, but we went ahead and ordered something else. Later, we noticed that other tables around us were clearly served eastern dishes. That felt unfair, and we still don’t understand why we were told otherwise.
We did speak to him about rushing us at the beginning, and he apologized. But overall, his attitude really affected our experience.
As for the food — it was absolutely delicious. The salads were amazing, and the taste overall was great. The portions for the main dishes were a bit small considering the price, but the quality made up for it. They also served us complimentary desserts and fruit, which was a nice touch.
The atmosphere was really nice too. We were lucky to get a quiet corner, which felt peaceful and somewhat private. The center of the restaurant looked quite busy and noisy, so we definitely appreciated where we...
Read moreI've been to Avcoa before, and honestly, it was disappointing. But I'm so glad I gave it another try because this time, it was absolutely wonderful! They've clearly made some incredible changes, and the whole dining experience, from the atmosphere to the food, was fantastic. The Vibe The ambiance is amazing—it feels welcoming and stylish, a perfect backdrop for a great meal. But let's talk about the real star: the food. The Food Burger - 9/10 This burger is an absolute must-try. I found it on the kids' menu, which is a crime, because it deserves a spot on the main one! The only reason I'm giving it a 9 is that the meat wasn't as thick as I'd like, but they more than made up for it by serving two burgers on one plate. If you're going to Avcoa, please and I beg of you, order this burger! Farooj Mashab - 9.5/10 This dish is a true highlight. The chicken was incredibly juicy and flavorful, and the value is unbeatable. For just 20k, I got a meal that could easily feed two or even three people. I was so full after eating just half of it! The portion size is huge and the taste is exceptional. This is a dish that really shows off what Avcoa is capable of. Avcoa has completely turned things around, and I can't recommend it enough. The new direction is a huge success, and the food is a testament to the quality and care...

Pros:
Great View: The second floor has very large windows that offer a nice view.
Good Food: The food was delicious, well-prepared, and overall enjoyable.
Restrooms: Surprisingly well-equipped compared to many high-end restaurants in Baghdad. They had thoughtful touches like phone holders and hangers for coats.
Valet Parking: Available at 5,000 IQD, convenient since the parking lot isn’t available.
Cons:
Second Floor Heat: The big windows let in sunlight without heat-isolation films. During summer, the area becomes very hot, especially at tables in the middle or near the windows. The AC isn’t effective in those spots, so sitting there during the day is uncomfortable.
First Floor Atmosphere: Many tables with shisha and salad gave it a feel I didn’t like, which pushed me to sit upstairs instead.
Coffee Quality: The coffee wasn’t terrible, but definitely not good.
Prices: Slightly on the expensive side, though not extreme.
Note: If you visit in summer, sit on the second floor but choose a table away from the windows so you can actually...
