I cannot say enough good things about this pub.

We walked in around 4:30 on a Thursday. Im traveling from Canada and the manager Daniel was nothing but friendly and inviting.

He allowed me to take photos of the pub, we played a tasting game of the local stouts for a shot.

He toured me around the restaurant and bar and talked to me about the history of the pub. He let me behind the bar and in the kitchen to take photos.

We visited the Leaping Salmon on the Saturday evening of a Bank Holiday weekend. We had booked a table for 5 people. We arrived on time but were seated in a very tight space with stag and customers squeezing past right behind, the whole time. Most of the menu was unavailable - no fresh fish! I chose a steak instead, which was only OK. The others had salads and pizzas. They were enjoyed. We might visit again, but not...
